Ive been laughing out loud for 10 minutes with tears coming out of my eyes at the fact that the OP says he would trade Rondo for Mike Conley.

Mike Conley.

Thats just none sense i also see the criticism that danny ainge gets, but honestly this guy knows what his doing, and Doc Rivers dont even mention it , instead of reading you guys bashing on your player you should be happy you have a nice well balanced starting lineup and a decent bench.

A lot Boston fans are like Laker fans.  Go to a Laker forum and you will see similar comments about every player.

He can be infuriating but I think trading him is a little much.

It would be great if he found consistency with his 17 ft j and fts but not many of the top pgs would fit appropriately with this team.

Rondo is a very good fit with this group and that is too important to trade away

a top point guard in the league brings it every night - he does not bring it every night so he will never be a top point guard in this league.  Danny needs to trade him for a quality point that will try every night rather than sleep walk through the game like Rondo did last night.  He was outplayed in every facet of the game by his counterpart.

You're probably going to have to delve into game logs and do a game-by-game analysis of whoever you think is the top point guard to convince me of this claim.

Unexcusable. I also don't have any issue saying that I can think of at least 10 point guards in the NBA I'd rather have than Rondo.

I'd really like to know who those 10+ point guards are...please.

Also it seems like for every bad game Rondo has, people seem to magically forget anything else he's done before that. He's going through a bad stretch, but he's been statistcally great all season.

-Derrick Rose
-Chris Paul
-Deron Williams
-Russell Westbrook
-Chauncy Billups
-Raymond Felton
-Devin Harris
-Jason Kidd
-Danny Granger
-Brandon Jennings
-Mike Conely

-Derrick Rose - Might need to work on that whole "takes 20 shots to get 24 points" thing.
-Chris Paul - Because losing our minds over KG's knees aren't enough.
-Deron Williams - Okay.
-Russell Westbrook - His basketball IQ needs a serious boost to fit in here.
-Chauncy Billups - Mr. Big Shot has become quite the chucker.
-Raymond Felton - I can't even...
-Devin Harris - See above.
-Jason Kidd - I think what you meant to say was "the 2001 version of Jason Kidd"
-Danny Granger - Danny Granger is a guard?? Danny Granger is a POINT guard? File this under, "you learn something new everyday".
-Brandon Jennings - 37% field goal pct. + 5 whole assists per game = I never knew a 55pt game from a season ago could carry so much weight.
-Mike Conley - Please see: Devin Harris. Raymond Felton.

Rondo is our future, and barring a trade for Derrick Rose or D-Will, I can't see that changing. I don't want Chris Paul who had the same knee surgeries that Brandon Roy had and could end up in the same situation in a couple years. Rondo has a couple bad games and lets trade him? That is insanity, I'm sure he is tired, he is playing 40+ minutes since Delonte went down. Getting wrecked when you turn around every other play and your getting a hard screen set on you because your guarding Brandon Jennings for 40 minutes sucks.

Glad none of you who want to trade Rondo is a GM or this team would be in trouble if every game when one of our starting five played bad and you wanted to trade him.

Okay, thanks for the responses.

I tend to agree with Roy and will give Rondo the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's just tired. And yes I was wrong about Granger being a point guard.

My mistake. Thank you much (except to the one poster who called me an idiot.)

i don't know why but I think he gets bored. He lacks motivation a lot of the time.  Maybe Doc and KG, etc can't motivate him anymore.  I can see that PP gets sick of him because PP refuses to give Rondo the ball sometimes and I think its PP's way of letting Rondo know..........

One thing I learned this season is that nagging on players during/after stints of poor performances is usually temporary. We usually find out sooner or later that someone has a nagging injury. Nate Robinson sucked for most of the year - well, he's having arthroscopic surgery on his knee. Shaq's rebounding numbers are down - well, turns out he's going to be out with foot issues for who knows how long. Big Baby's been awful these past couple of weeks - well, turns out he's been playing through some sort of leg injury all season. In the case of Rondo, we already know that he has plantar fasciitis. Lets just be thankful that he's playing as well as he is and lets hope that we'll have the pleasure of seeing playoff Rondo before long!
