He's better than an injured Marquis Daniels though, right?

when you are rebuilding, you aren't really looking at production drop off. As for Nash, he still puts people in the seats.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved in the off season however...

But you aren't trading players that outproduce their contracts in salary dumps either because they can get you talent back. So even if they wanted to trade Dudley, they'd never let him go in a salary dump or for an expiring and a late 1st rounder as they'd love to do with Childress. They'll want talent back; if they don't get it, they'll just retain him. He's 25, he can perfectly be part of their future core, with Dragic, Gortat, Lopez

Plus, between what Phoenix should do - go into full rebuilding mode around those young players - and what they actually do there's generally a gap.

Call me crazy but IMHO:

Kapono - can't play defense, but he can certainly shoot the lights out. I think Von Wafer is a better option at this point. PS - Kapono does bring with him a very fine looking wife.

Butler - could be a decent glue guy but I'd rather hold out for Murphy. Butler hasn't seen steady minutes in a long time and will clearly be rusty.

Murphy - I want him. He is the prize. If we don't get him I would hate to see him land in Miami, Orlando, or New York City.

kapono is a 3 point gunner that can't defend. i think wafer is better...butler..doesn't do much of anything really...murphy would be my choice but i am not sure the Cs will get him.

When do buy outs begin?

I have it on a good (CBDraft) authority that Butler can be the primary wing defender of a championship caliber team.  ::)

Like it or not, the current standard is Wafer.

We need a forward before the trade deadline, Pierce can not play 40 minutes, Marcus, is a mystery injury.
I think it would be a mistake not to bring any player.
 Like Rasual Butler.

We need a guy who is a little bigger than Wafer and who has a bit more savvy. And don't forget Wafer's attempts at defending Kobe.

We have absolutely no backup 3 at the moment. We cannot continue that way.

Agreed, we can't count on West/Wafer to back up the SG/SF position.

They might end up being the best option even with whomever else we get, but we still need some more depth.

From Alex Kennedy's Twitter

The New York Knicks are shopping Corey Brewer and Renaldo Balkman to open roster spots for potential free agents. http://tinyurl.com/4eueqpj

What about a 1st and a 2nd for Corey Brewer? I like him as Pierce's backup.
