I am not a physician but I have worked for and with physicians for over 15 years....my guess is that someone will be telling him shortly he has a narrowing in some part of his spinal cord  and that he will surely be advised that this type of incident could easily happen again with much worse results...and that sadly may put Quisy in a position of retiring

Pure speculation on my part .....but this specifically happened to him for a physical reason and if happened once or twice then it will happen again.....hope I am wrong....but

and to those of you who keep saying trade JO ...please stop...can you imagine who would take him...he is signed for two years!!!!! come on.....just silly....and almost a silly is screaming for Sheed....really?

Spinal contusions are the most common type of spinal cord injury. It involves bruising of the spinal cord resulting in inflammation and bleeding from blood vessels near the injury. A spinal contusion results in temporary incomplete (one to two days) or complete debilitation of the spinal cord.

I stopped reading on Spinal cord injuries...all of them sound scary and bad. I pray he is okay.

Strange part about this is according to Danny Ainge in the presser after the game he and the team doctor stated this has happened when he was with the Pacers several times but not as bad.Its something that has occured a few times while with the C's but in a lighter way.It sounds like Danny and team doctor were aware of the possibility of something going wrong sooner or later.

When the media asked Danny when did it happen while being a Celtics,he recalled game 5 aganist Orlando in last season's playoffs. He couldn't remember exactly which game the second one occured last season. After listening to them it makes me wonder why is he playing basketball at this level.

If your post is all correct, then I would actually hope that he retires.  Sounds like he is prone to this injury and that it poses a life-altering or maybe even life-threatening risk.

Makes me wonder that if certain players are able to play with a mask or goggles to protect their face to injury, wouldn't it make sense to have Daniels play with some sort of neck brace? Obviously one contoured to sports activity and not one looking as if he was just involved in a crash.

The Celtics said that Daniels has a history of spine "issues." They referred to last year's Eastern Conference Finals when Daniels left Game 5 against the Magic with a concussion. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said there have been other episodes when Daniels has experienced tingling in his arms and legs.

Edit: In the video, Danny says that he has returned to near full function...good to hear that.

I can see VW filling in this role especially when Delonte returns.  VW is a very good penetrator. I don't know if he can handle small forwards on D though.

Vs quicker 3's we'll go with Wafer, but vs bigger ones (say Turkoglu, Artest, etc.) I think Doc should go with Luke.

I wonder if this is what happened when he ran into Gortat's chest last year.  I remember them reporting that as a concussion, but based upon what I'm hearing about this being a recurring thing, I wouldn't be surprised if that incident in last year's playoffs was also connected to this spinal cord issue.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson
