Im really considering going small with a lineup of

Deron
Artest
Rashard
Smith
Hickson

I think having a smith and Hickson Frontcourt with a PG like Deron would be very fun to watch

I don't buy Artest at SG, unless he loses 30 pounds. He's just not quick enough to guard opposing 2s.
The Lakers use Artest against SGs fairly often when there isn't a scorer at SF for him to defend. He usually does a good job there. I think he'll be fine.

A few of the SGs who run through a lot of screens will be problematic (Ronnie Brewer can take them) but other types of threats Artest can defend well.

Offensively, I think having two post threats like Artest and Rashard Lewis on the wing will help their halfcourt offense.

"Sir Dunksalot" DeAndre Jordan

"The Dance Machine" Demarcus Cousins

"Smooth Daddy" Carmelo Anthony

"The Lord of the Fly" Andre Iguodala

"MC" Kirk Hinrich

Talented.

Once you think you can stop DeMarcus in the post, he entrances you with his 'whole world in his hands' dance as featured above.

Not just to keep up with the running joke, but I don't like Mo Williams on this team. I think this offense needs a better ballhandler.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
PG: Kyle Lowry/Jerryd Bayless
SG: Landry Fields/Reggie Williams
SF: Paul Pierce/Reggie Williams
PF: Serge Ibaka/Drew Gooden/Tyler Hansborough
C: Andrew Bogut/Serge Ibaka

Not enough offense and I feel bad for the captain playing on a team that is years away.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really know all that much about your guys, or about how they fit together.

The Gooden-Bogut frontcourt in the real Milwaukee has been a bit of a bust, no? Ibaka seems like a nice up and coming big, but is he capable of playing 30+ minutes a night?

I think there's a lot of pressure on Pierce to score 25+ a night.

On the nose. Bogut is only scoring 14 a night and not in a particularly efficient manner (.49 FG% .42 FT%). I love Lowry, "Muddy" Fields and Ibaka. All are all high-effort, team-oriented players, and chippy, plus defenders but there isn't a reliable third option there.

The Bucks should get some offense off the bench from Reggie Williams - who isn't getting steady minutes in Golden State - and Gooden. Although Drew is out four-five weeks and is a mistake prone player that I don't think very highly of.

But this is a team that should be really strong on the glass and tough defensively with good size. Not an easy out.

And I do like the Hansborough pick for all the reasons you state. I'd target a better back up point guard next.

Scoring is obviously the biggest flaw, while I think defense is the biggest strength.

Here is a bigger look, with #'s and expectations:

Total points: 94.8

That's without 10 mins a night from a 3rd undrafted center and a 3rd point guard, if we give those minutes to Serge Ibaka (up to 31) and Jerryd Bayless (up to 20), you get to 98.3 ppg, which is right there with Boston this season.

I don't think there is really a significantly better defensive team in this draft, and I think there are some off-stats on my guys that should self-correct. Andrew Bogut's FG% should move up significantly. He's been playing without a scorer all season long pretty much, and with Kenyon Dooling as his PG for a significant part of the season. His shooting % has dropped because he's forcing shots and still recovering from his wrist injury, and I think that will go up.

I don't think Lowry, ibaka and Fields will be as productive without a plethora of better scorers around them. You have 3 4th options in your staring 5. That's my big objection.

So you're saying they'd be less effective if they take more shots?

You might be right...its pretty difficult to say. They're all young though, and considering Fields' consistency, Ibaka's incredible improvement in only 1 year, and Lowry's improvement from last year to this year, especially in scoring..I think it is just as feasible that they'd be able to maintain their current efficacy, and possibly (I'd say most likely in the case of Ibaka) improve on their impact further.

The biggest concern I think is actually Paul Pierce. Although all 5 starters project to be 10 ppg scorers, Paul Pierce is a significantly worse player when he tries to be a hero for a whole game. If his FGA's go up significantly, I think his FG% drops just as significantly...so it will be important that some of these guys come through.

Hey, I just like looking at them. Its a way to keep busy when nothing is going on...playing with MPG, looking at how per minute production fluctuates..looking at %'s...this stuff brings out the excel nerd in me.

PG: Jarrett Jack

I still need a backup PG (although I will likely play Roy a bit at the point), but other than that, I am very happy with my roster.

With a healthy brandon roy this is the best team in the draft. Without a healthy brandon Roy they're a 5th seed or so.

I'm saying they won't receive as quality looks as they do know and be forced to play against the more stringent aspects of a defense.

Adjusted lineup:

C: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Carmelo Anthony
SF: Carmelo Anthony
SG: Carmelo Anthony
PG: Carmelo Anthony

If I've got Melo playing all five positions, let's be honest, we're going to score points: 166.6* to be exact. That'd be number 1 in the real NBA, guys.

I don't think we'll ever see 100% Brandon Roy again.  With bone-on-bone, I think we're going to be looking at 70% - 80% of the player he was, max.  That being the case, even if 75% Brandon Roy played 82 games, I'd still put LA and Miami ahead of Dallas.

I'd put San Antonio right up there w/ the elite teams
