I guess it is fair to say that anyone who thinks this team is going to be fully healthy by the playoffs is nuts. If JO has to miss three months, in my opnion he would be useless for the playoffs. What was once incredible depth in the front court is now a mirage. Erden will likely be out for a couple of games with the groin pull and JO is gone for a good period of time. Tomorrow night's game could be ugly with no JO, no Shaq and no Semih. Can't wait  :-\

can we have Sheed in uniform by tomorrow? Get on it Danny!

I meant no Garnett tomorrow night, not no Shaq. Starting to wonder if Garnett will be back for the Orlando game on Monday, since he still is not practing at full strength.

Danny doesn't have a choice now, our front court is absolutely ravaged. He better grab a cake...or a certain type of 'plant' as a gift to give rasheed, before he goes to the Wallace house to beg him to come back.  :(
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

Well, I think we're overreacting a little.  Perk should be back soon, and KG should be back very soon.  Once they are back, we have Perk/Shaq and KG/BBD.  If they can stay healthy for a while, that's plenty.  And if JO can even be back by the playoffs, we should be in good shape.

Still, I wouldn't mind Sheed.  He'd be nice insurance.

Move Gody or Erden for a conditional second round pick and sign Sheed.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls
PG: Chauncey Billups
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Jimmy Butler
PF: Pau Gasol
C: Yao Ming
Bench: Al Horford, Danny Granger

move Gody, not Erden. We can't afford to ship out centers

There is no 'injured list' in the NBA.

In a lucky uniform.

Need a roster spot for him to wear a Celtics uniform. That probably only happens through a trade.

What's the Celtics Blog equivalent of going postal or standing on a ledge? Because when you guys add in the part about getting rid of good young players that's where I am on this. If we could just add him or maybe get rid of Von Wafer then you might have a point, but getting rid of young guys that hustle with potential for Sheed?

Guys. I'm dying inside.  You're breaking my heart. You're going to a place we cannot go.   What you want. What you have said. What you are planning to do.  This is evil.

....as for JO...wasted MLE

Waste can be taken two ways (actually it has numerous connotations):

1. to squander:I think many folks on here when they use the word “wasted” have this definition in mind. I don’t think that Ainge did that. To squander implies carelessness at best and irresponsibility and recklessness at worst. Ainge took a chance and got the best FA big man available for the MLE. He took a risk and SO FAR, the risk hasn’t paid off. JO could have a minor scoping of his knee and be back by March. Who knows??

This brings us to the second meaning (and actually the first in most dictionaries) and the one that if I were to use the word waste in reference to the JO situation, I think best applies. That definition is “to employ uselessly or without adequate return.”

I agree with the second definition, but absolutely don’t agree with the first and what it implies. I don’t think that Ainge’s signing was careless, irresponsible or reckless. It was a calculated gamble, that if it paid off (and we still don’t know for sure that it won’t, even though it strongly looks that way) would have paid huge dividends for a relatively short price.

There may be no choice in the JO situation, as JO on WEEI says Surgery in his future.

Surprised, and more than a little disturbed by this.

We gave full MLE money for this year and next to this guy. Could turn out to be a real waste of money.

Im not disturbed, I feel bad for JO. He's played great in his limited time this year and has really tried hard to work on his conditioning and fit into the system for us. Id hate to see him be out for an extended period of time.

I think you are playing loose with the word "great" in using it to describe how JO has played. He has been good at times, average at othres and bad in several games. I don't think he has ever been great. If he has to have surgery, I think he is going to be out for extended time and I think will be useless in the playoffs.

Its disappointing. Jermaine is a great asset to the team when he is healthy. He is basically Perk with Offense.

Get Well JO. Semih got this.
