My ranking of the Pat's draft needs:
(1) O line
(2) OLB/DE
(3) CB
(4) RB
(yes, a bit different froom the OP's Ricky Williams discussion, but figure it goes here in this topic)
I think I would go:
1. O line
2. D line/outside linebacker (they interchange DE/DT so much, I am lumping them together)
3. Running back
4. Wide Reciever
I am not sure how much of a need CB is any more. They can always use depth there, but with Bodden coming back next season, and Arrington and Butler still around, I think they are in pretty decent shape going forward at that position.
I am definitely worried about their lines though. With Mankins likely gone after this season, and Light moving closer and closer to retirement, they are going to really need to inject some talent up front. I don't think they need to use the first round pick unless there is someone they love there, but they really need to hit on at least one linemen next year.
And on defense, they have done a great job piecing things together, but Warren's contract is up soon, and those guys really are the key to their defense. If they can add another stud there, I think it will solve a lot of problems. Particularly if they can get a guy who forces double teams inside, it could open things up for the OLBs to rush the QB.
I would argue that one of the reasons they were able to get so much pressure from guys like Vrabel in the past was because you had guys like Seymore and Warren blowing up the middle, often leaving Vrable with just a back to beat to get to the QB.
