You make some good points,Greenblood. Innocent until proven guilty. He's our guy. He's a Celtic. We should take him at his word (if we are truly die hard Celts fans). Lesson learned here.If KG gave a crap what I said in some fantasy world, I'd offer him an apology.

I hate "apology culture", in sports or anywhere else. Anytime someone is forced to issue a public apology, it's almost certainly insincere.

Also, this was an utterly ridiculous story to begin with. I cannot believe it got any traction.

If Kevin Garnett didn't say it, then I will say.

Charlie Villanueva really does look like a cancer patient.

He runs to whine on the internet faster than Star Wars geeks ran out of The Phantom Menace to whine on the internet about Jar Jar Binks.  He's so soft he couldn't beat up a girl.  Or maybe he can.  And there is no way that Delonte West would touch his mama.

BOOM!  ;D

You guys really dont get it eh?
How many times do you hear these players saying it is a buisness. If it is a buisness then act professionally. You try going into work tommorow and acting like KG does on the court and see what happens. He represnets the Celtics, the NBA and he is on television.
I really dont care what he does. I bet that his lame splitting hairs is what has given this story the life it has. Simply admitting he got to hyped up and was talking too much would have made it all go away.

KG can do whatever he wants to do.  He might want to apologize to counteract the stupidity of CV (kill the story) for tweeting what he could have said to his face but, I hope he doesn't.

From what I gather CV has been reprimanded more than once about tweeting during games so if what Doc and KG said is true than KG was right about him being cancerous to the league.  The whole twitter concept is a cancerous to society in general.  Judged by the past few weeks on this blog alone.  No checks and balances with it.  Everyone (wrongly) assumes it's true because someone wrote it (it has to be true, amright?) and then it has to be proven wrong.  Very dumb all the way around but, too each his own.

Of course KG shouldn't apologize. It's a game of emotions and KG is one of the most intense players out there. The only thing that should happen is Charlie going for 30 the next time we play Milwaukee. Because if you're talkin' it, you better be walkin' it, too. I'm not seeing that happening, though.

Also, did you read the Brandon Jennings piece? He felt that the players should always leave it out on the court. "It's nobody's business" were his exact words. I tend to agree.

Can we move on now, please?

That's pretty nonsensical. Do you go to work and act like an nba player (aside from a small amount of the trash talking that occurs)? Or maybe you act like a pro wrestler, because that's a business too? Please.

Well, beyond apologizing, I've had 3 days to attempt to digest the whole thing.

CV should've never went Twitter with this, so he should apologize.

KG? My heart tells me that while he is a trash talker, he would not cross the line - BUT: In the heat of battle or an argument, haven't most of us (I know I have) said stuff that we have regretted?

It is with my last sentence that for me I must close the book on the whole thing. KG's not a perfect player or person, like we all are, but he is a great player (and person).

As I was thinking about all this yesterday, I recalled how KG donated a LARGE sum of money to the Katrina victims when that tragedy first broke:

http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/community/garnett_oprah_051110.html

With that, and the stuff that he may do that doesn't get publicized, my final take is that even IF he got caught up in the heat of the moment and said what CV said, I forgive him, as should Yahoo Sports and everyone else.

I cannot think of no other player to go into battle with if I was in the NBA.

You clearly don't get it. If someone beat you to a proposal in your job, would you hard foul them? No? Well, that is because trying to compare acceptable behavior on a job and acceptable behavior on a basketball court is moronic.

Meanwhile, I will say what I've said before: all of you demanding an apology should lead by example. Please apologize for all the times you've ever made fun of someone's appearance, all the times you may have used words tied to medical or mental conditions to insult anyone (like cripple, gimp, retard, lame, etc) , all the times you've been less than politically correct. Yes, did you know that lame is an insult tied to a medical condition? Go ahead and look it up, the original meaning is "crippled or physically disabled, esp. in the foot or leg so as to limp or walk with difficulty. "

Finally, I guess a 25 page thread for this wasn't enough, huh? We needed a few more to hear the same thing over and over.

To me, this whole situation kinda illustrates one of my biggest qualms with today's society;  the concept of "fake outrage".  ::)

Disagree.  If KG said that he looked like a cancer patient, yes.  But KG denies saying that and if he apologizes now, he is pretty much admitting he was lying.

Absolutely. No turning back.

The whole concept of political correctness in the context of trash talk boggles the mind...

KG should issue a public apology for talking trash to Charlie V.
I would apologize and just explain that he gets wired during the games. Everyone knows talking smack is common in professional sports if KG just admits he needs to calm it down a bit everyone will understand.

Is he apologizing for what CV claims he said, or what KG claims he said?  Obviously, it is a he said (KG) she said (CV) thing, but I am not sure what KG claims he said deserves an apology.
