Nevermind just read the whole article.  No trade yet..

Still a possibility though.  Lets hope not, but if it is that we're getting something good in return and not a 3rd round pick.

Add Vincent Jackson in that deal somehow and make it a three-way and I'll accept in a heart beat.

Add Vincent Jackson and I'll accept in a heart beat.  I'd even do a Moss for Jackson trade straight up.

I dont think Jackson is involved.  I think people are just saying the Vikings are looking at moss because they couldnt get Jackson.

Vomit in mouth.. They are saying 3rd round pick on NFL fanhouse.

That wouldn't surprise me.
After all, didn't the Vikings balk at acquiring Vincent Jackson for a 2nd round pick?

For me, the biggest problem with a potential trade is the impact on Brady, who clearly likes having a vet around (eg: he wasn't the same in the year after D. Branch left).

On the other hand, how many times did we hear a Vikes trade for Jackson was imminent, only to have nothing happen... could be the same with Moss.  (ie nothing will happen)

Reiss says he has been unable to confirm that there have been talks but speculates if a deal is to be done it has to be Seymour Esque and that a 1st rounder might entice the pats

Honestly, I think it would be a no brainer if a first rounder were involved.  Moss is a real asset for the Pats, and would be missed, but its pretty hard to pry a first rounder from another team, and let's face it, Moss is on the downside of his career and not coming back to the Pats after this season.  Makes sense to get something for him now if possible.  That is, if something of real value (like a first rounder) can be gotten...

As a Vikings fan, I'll do a back flip if they can get him for a third round pick.  I'm sure his career will end in flames in Minny like it did the first time, but for this season he is just what the Vikes needed.  Moss with a chip on his shoulder + a good team = an unstoppable offense.  He did it in 98 with Minnesota, and he did it for the Pats when he first arrived there.

I agree with the trade if we can get a 3rd round, and a young piece.

Moss is still good but Brady is better offensively when the defense can’t cue down on one guy.

Allow me to dive into my statistical analysis:

In ’03 and ’04 The Pats had 8 receivers with at least 16 receptions. In ’05 there was also 8 players, but we turned the ball over WAY too much. After the loss to the Broncos in the 2nd round The Pats let Deion Branch go, and they spread money between guys who should have been bench warmers. This resulted in only having 7 players with 16 grabs. Then in ’07 instead of just upgrading the mistakes they over did it by getting Moss. This put up great numbers, but overall left Tom relying too much on the deep ball (in ’07, despite completing about 400 passes, Brady only spread it between 6 guys.) In 2008 Matt Cassell’s team was only 6, and in ’09 there 7 players with at least a catch per game.

So far in 4 games there are 7 guys with a catch a game, but with Faulk out for the season we’re only going forward with 6 of those sure handed guys. I think at Monday night showed us what we’ve been missing since ’04, a group of lesser known guys who can move the chains and just be consistent. Obviously it wasn’t 8 guys, but after the defense and special teams dominated the 3rd Law Firm closed it out.

IMO The Jets game would have been a win if we didn’t keep trying for the long ball and just moved the chains with the short-to-intermediate passes.
