and twitter exploding too.
count me as
a. Skeptical
b. worried if it goes through (defense still quite suspect, we need our offense to score lots of points to win, and moss still draws double teams consistently; i think we'd really miss him, and does Brady want to lose him?)
On the flipside, he's a complainer and on the decline (how'd he miss that TD to end the 1st half?)
Here it is here too:

Hopefully it's because it's a deal too good to be true in order for desperate Minny to keep Favre happy so he doesn't retire at the bye week.
Berrian and Jared Allen!! (I wish)
Hopefully it's NOT because Moss told the Pats to extend him or trade him because he was going to start making a major fuss.
And hopefully it's none of this "2014 First Rounder" stuff...you can only stockpile for so long before your All-Pro HOF QB, your single greatest advantage, fastest QB ever to 100 wins, is too old to play with the stockpiled assets anymore.
I wouldn't mind a 2011 1st rounder. We'd be stacked in the upcoming draft, and have the hard cap space to replace Moss through free agency. Plus, if he's going to be gone after this season anyway, then why not? Brady has proven he doesn't need a clear cut #1 receiver to win.
Interesting note: Moss had 0 catches last night. I'm betting he's not too happy about putting up a donut.
I'd be very very scared to trade Moss for nothing immediate because
A. Though deep with pass targets (Tate, Welker, 3 TEs, Edelman...anyone else?) Moss still has something special, as demonstrated by his splitting 3 defenders for the deep bomb in the Buffalo game.
B. Though deep with pass targets, one injury (never an NFL rarity) can suddenly change that.
C. I want Brady excited and happy to run the offense
D. Our defense is still suspect; does the monday night game end the same way without the fluky special teams stuff? What if they get that punt off and the Pats don't get the easy TD and they settle for punt/FG? What if, then, the Dolphins can continue to pound the run? Does the outcome change? I don't know. Point is, Defense is still unproven and thus, unless we're getting immediate help, the Pats need all the weapons they have to outscore other teams
E. I acknowledge I could be completely wrong with this, BUT: I get the sense that Moss is still frequently double teamed/gameplanned for. What is the domino effect on the offense (including the highly suspect and thin running game) if Moss is gone and not replaced? Scares me.
On the flipside, there are still times each week I think Moss is overrated and contained; but on the flip flip side I can't tell if that's just because he's double teamed and therefore opening things up for everyone else. But if he IS overrated, the Pats could definitely come out ahead if getting appropriate talent now. Personally, the Pats are already stacked for the future, and they need to be getting real players so that they can take advantage of being lucky enough to have one of the all-time greatest QBs. At some point, you can't build for the future all the time, you need to pounce on chances to win Super Bowls while you can.
