The Seattle Supersonics:

Guards: Brandon Jennings, Courtney Lee
Forwards: Shane Battier, Blake Griffin, Dejaun Blair
Center; Joakim Noah.

We consider ourselves the clear favorites for team of the future, because of the surprising amount of playoff experience of the young players have and their overall talent. We also consider ourselves to have a shot at the playoffs.
I don't think you'll sniff the playoffs unless you get a very high quality back up PG to handle when Jennings is ineffective.

You also need to get some insurance in the front court as right now all your F/Cs have been injured recently and Battier is old.

You've been touting Jenning's ineffectiveness all draft, isn't it possible that he was *gasp* a rookie and hit the rookie wall only to rebound and almost single handedly beat the Hawks?
Rookie wall? He shot below 40% from the field for a full five months of the season. Look at his splits:

He hit the wall early and never really got back up, he's a streaky player. Without a quality veteran to help level out the team's offense he's in trouble.

Jennings has plenty of potential but he didn't almost single handedly beat the Hawks. I don't even think he was the Bucks best player for much of that playoff series.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Orlando:

Guards: Jason Terry, Joe Johnson, Vince Carter
Forwards: LaMarcus Aldridge, Andrei Kirilenko
Center: Andris Biedrins

Got 3 picks in the next two rounds...inform me of your esteemed opinions, Celtics faithful.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Quote
Josh Smith cannot be your SF in any of your main lineups if you expect to win much

I thought the Hawks were moving Horford to start at PF and that would make Smith starting at SF
They aren't, they are planning on having him play backup PF minutes when Josh Smith isn't in the game.

Interesting run and gun team.

I worry about your interior defense in a big way. Aldridge is your best post defender and that's a scary prospect. Bring in a few bangers to help out with that and I think your team will do well.

I'm not pretending his a future MVP because of a few high scoring games, I'm saying he can easily be the best player on a legitimate playoff team because, frankly, he just was. He was a streaky rookie, does that mean he can't level off and up his consistency? Lord knows players never grow out of their bad habits and mature, especially if they show the leadership and competitiveness that Jennings showed in the playoffs. Nope, that never happens.

I like your team but I think you need a true PG to distribute the rock. Terry too much of a tweener and JJ and VC aren't pass first guards.

I think Joe Johnson loves having the ball so much that having a guy like Terry next to him should work out. Plus VC off the bench will give you another player to run your offense through when Joe Johnson isn't in the game.

Bogut was there best player till he got hurt, then they managed to stay in the playoffs. To say Jennings was the best player on a playoff team is inaccurate. Without Bogut playing the majority of the season they weren't a playoff team.

Beyond that I don't think they had a best player during that series. It was a very uneven series. Delfino, Salmons, Jennings all had monster games and some really awful games.

My completely subjective opinion is that this is one of the very talented teams that I just don't like very much.  I can't even put a precise finger on it.  I think Biedrins is offensively deficient, and his defense has been pretty exposed, too.  AK47 and Carter are both whiny players who have isolated their teammates and coaches in the past.

I guess I just don't see these guys fitting together as a team, rather than as a collection of random talent thrown together.  Individually, I like Johnson, Aldridge, and Terry, but mixed with their current teammates, I don't see much success in their future.

Jennings big knock coming out of high school and Europe was his shooting. Yes, his three point percentage was good but everything else was just awful. I also don't know if he'll keep up that three point shooting. My guess is he slumps his sophomore season.

But if he concentrates on being a more defensive minded, pass first thinking type PG, his shooting will eventually come around. I just am not a big believe of Jennings having a big year next year based on seeing what I saw from him for the last 5 months of the season last year.

I see a lot of what Roy is trying to say about this team. Great individual talent but the chemistry and fit is just not there. I also think defensively, the team is soft.

I don't know. Very talented but just don't think this team "works" if you know what I mean.

With some Hyperbole that I met with scorn.

I meant the actual team in the playoffs and as they took the Hawks to 7 games I think that makes them legitimate. You could argue Salmons was the better player, but I would argue that Salmons had never even sniffed the playoffs let alone be productive in them without playing with a dynamic pg like Rose or Jennings. Salmons is a clearly better player when he's alongside a good PG. Meanwhile, the arrival of another dominant wing scorer may have slowed Jennings ability to recover from his slump.

I feel the same way.  On a name basis, there is a lot of talent.  But like you Nick, I just don't think the team will mesh very well.  The only guard comfortable coming off the bench is Terry.  So is JJ and Vince going to start together? Good luck getting Vince to come off the bench.  I know JJ gets about 5apg.

My also concern is if Biedrins can get back to form, he had a real off year last year.  Also your defense is a concern.  You have LA and Kirilenko.  Kirilenko is long but he plays better as a PF than SF.

The big man note is spot on however.
