Another missed pick? This does not bode well for the later rounds.

Odd. Riah and I were negotiating heavily for the pick at hand not 30 minutes ago...

Ah-ha, now I know who I was wagering against!

Ha! Doesn't say much that he preferred to leave his pick on the table than take either of our offers...

he made us BOTH look like idiots  :o

Why does anyone have more faith in Yao's ability to have an impact this season than they do Perk's?

Would it make you feel better if I say I'm deeply concerned about both.

What if I add that while Perkins could conceivably miss the entire season, at least he isn't one set back away from retirement?

You're kidding right?

Yao's injury was a year and a half ago. Perk's weeks ago. Yao is due back for training camp. Perk February.

That's debatable.

Remember the dislocated shoulder? Now add a reconstructed knee.

Co-sign. Perk's injury is more recent, Yao's had a career of injuries (and is 7 foot 6)

Right, but he's suffered the same major injury several times.

Any takers on who's more likely to be in uniform for the playoffs?

ps - when I kid and it's not a sure fire knee slapper, you'll see one of these type things  ;)  ;D
Yup

I'd be more concerned about Yao due to his frame, age, and quotes saying if he's not close to 100 percent he's hanging up his size 33 sneakers.

With the 24th pick of round 5 the Golden State Warriors select Nicolas Batum

The guy I was thinking of instead of Luc Richard.

Great pick. One of the best young defensive SFs. Made real strides last season as a scorer. Finished out the year really well.

And I agree with Lucky, better both short and long term than either the Prince or Pietrus.

no comments on the pietrus pick... i really like him a lot and think him and kobe make a fantastic 2/3 duo.  is ariza really much better than him?

probably will get skipped on 5.28 due to going to play hoops right now.  i'll make it after

I thought it was a great pick. Pietrus is a very good role player.

I was looking hard at him for my next selection (early sixth round) + he was a backup plan if Batum was off the board.
