Chris Paul played 78 and 80 games the 2 seasons prior to this past one.

I don't think teams are that concerned with injury.  I could be wrong.

My personal opinion is that Rondo is the better defender but only very slightly and Paul's offensive prowess more than makes up for that gap.

I think Danny will make overtones that he is considering trading Rondo, or that Rondo still has "growing" to do in his game.  Why?  Because this sort of thing fires up Rajon Rondo, and Danny knows that Rondo will come back a better player next year as a result.  Ultimately I'd be very surprised if Danny Ainge traded Rondo.

I think they're about even.  However, if somebody is going to give credit to Rondo for steals, then they sort of have to for Paul as well, don't they?  Otherwise, it seems like cherry-picking.

That's my interpretation of the situation as well and I believe the correct way to handle Rondo.  If he develops offensively a tad more and FT% increases his ceiling is higher than Paul's IMO.

Defensively Rondo is more disruptive.  Rondo is a better athlete too.  Paul has a better skillset and jumpshot.  Ideally, I would like to keep Rajon and trade Ray for him.

I understand your point and I'm not with that steals=defense concept.  I think Rondo has more athletic ability, longer arms, and is much quicker.  BIGGER HANDS lol. Those things sans stats lead me to believe he's Paul superior with regards to defense.

Who cares?

Iverson led the league in steals two straight seasons. Steals are a very overrated stat when it comes to actual defensive ability (kind of like fielding% in baseball).

Rondo is the best defensive PG in the league. Paul is not far behind.

But, Rondo can bother more shots and has years of this team's D under his belt.

His shooting hasn't improved for three years now. I wish I had faith that he'd be able to make a sudden leap forward this offseason.
