  • You know my methods, Watson.
Perk seems to be getting abused by a guy playing on one leg.  We haven't rebounded well WITH him in the lineup, so now we're concerned that his absence is a guaranteed loss?  Sorry, don't buy it...

All Perk has done is this series is hold his role as starter, but giving way to Sheed and BBD, and rightfully so.  I'm not a Perk fan - don't like his demeanor, loss of temper, nor his mechanical low-post game.  He could easily be replaced on this team, and with the departure of Thibs, I see this team taking a different approach to defense next season anyway.

Sheed and BBD will do just fine...  If we lose it will be because we got beat by a team that mentally stronger than us and took it to us, much like you saw last night.  NOT because our token center went down with an injury...

I really don't see the Celtics winning without him.  He doesn't put up big numbers or anything like that, but his presence is huge.  If the Celtics are missing him down low, their rebounding and interior defense will suffer, and I can't imagine them winning.

Perkins is more important to the Celtics than Bynum is to the Lakers.  Seriously.  Without Perk, the Celtics are a legitimately bad rebounding team, and the team that wins on the boards wins in this series.

I sincerely hope he can play on Thursday.

So if Perk being out means the Celtics are automatically going to loose, there really isn't any point in watching the game, right?  ::)

The Celtics held their own on the boards in the second half in game 6 without Perk. The bench held their own for that big run in game 4. Anything can happen. If everyone rebounds like there is no tomorrow, and moves the ball, we'll be fine.

We've come way too far to lose now.  All we need is the ticket stub to turn into the beast stub.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

after last night...i am beginning to feel like this is over. i am afraid this is the end.
One mistake the media - and a lot of us fans - constantly make is placing too much emphasis in what happened in the last game.

The talent difference between these two teams is very small. And what happened in Game 6 has zero impact on the either team in Game 7.  I expect both teams to bring their A games and what's probably going to determine it is which supporting player(s) come up big.

Perk showed earlier this season he could be counted on for *some* scoring. We have 3 players with voracious appetites. KG,Allen and Pierce. All Perk is needed for is picks and filling the middle defensively. The Chief had a frown also but he was part of their Big 3.

Sheed and Davis can hold their own inside and I think they will. Pierce, Allen and KG will perform as advertised but one will show the way big time. Rondo will have a double double. Let Bryant go crazy and control the rest. The Celts shot miserably the 6th game. An awful percentage. Pathetic performances by KG and Pierce. This game was winnable by Celtic standards. This team still has another season in it from what I see of the rest of the League. We win without Perk tomorrow but we'll have to watch the last few seconds to know the outcome. I'm not as anti LA as once was. For Bryant to have this desire for yet another Title proves he is the best Warrior in the League. Win or Lose the Celts had one hell of a season.

The Celtics are toast Thursday night. At least Celtic fans have only 1 day and 1 game to know what Laker fans have had to go through the past 3 years with Bynum. He's playing this series quite literally on 1 leg, maybe logging 15 mins. per game. We won last year basically without him, and as everyone knows, he didn't play at all in '08. Bynum was on his way of becoming a dominant big man by January '08 when he went down with the season-ending knee injury. Had he played through the season, this would have been our 3-peat, no doubt about it.

This is the best kind of revisionist history.  If were playing that game, why don't we go ahead and say you would have been smoked last year by a healthy Celtics.

I look forward to reading this post after the Celtics win on Thursday.

This is such a sour grapes argument. I hate all the complaining for Lakers fans about not winning two years ago because Bynum was injured. Bynum was injured because he's made of glass. You shouldn't count on him because he's always hurt.

You can say that if Bynum was healthy you would be going for a 3 peat. I will counter with a healthy KG last year would have had us going for a 3 peat this year. I could also say that had KG never got hurt we would have closed this out already. All this is just conjecture, you have to go by what actually happen not live upon "what if".
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

KG couldn't rebound last year and it continues this year. KG's good years were left behind in Minnesota. Did you see KG get outjumped by Fisher in game 5? Ha! Ha! Ha! I'm actually a huge fan of KG the player. I actually felt embarrassed and sorry for the guy. Did you see him get dunked on by Farmar last night? Ha! Ha! Ha! No way would Boston have beaten the Lakers last year.

Funny how you Celtic fans criticize Laker fans for the "No Bynum" story line, but this entire post is moping and bemoaning the loss of Perkins. You guys are toast tomorrow!

You weren't winning in 2008 with or without Bynum.  Garnett was still an absolute beast that season and by far the best team in the league.  If the Celtics win tomorrow then I hope you return to this forum to be accountable for your ridiculous posts.

Really? You know if the ref will grow a pair and call the obvious push off with the elbow Bryant do when he shots the ball thats a easy 6 fouls and lets see how you guys handle us you plastic LA fan. Plus you might be a suspect Clipper fan anyway.

Dude. Fisher stole the tip. The ball was still on the way up. Thats how little guys win tips.

Also if you read most of the replies, you'd see that most of us have confidence in KG, Sheed and Davis.

Where were you after the Celtic wins?

Is there a Perk update

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/features/rumors

Quote
Roland Lazenby writes on Twitter that: "Perkins will play in Game 7. No guarantee of his effectiveness but even if he only does a Willis Reed stroll, he'll suit up and try to play."

We'll likely have a better idea if this is true or not as it gets closer to Thursday night.

Most recent thing I have heard.
