6th round I better get some size or I might be in trouble as Rodman and Bosh at PF/C is not a lot of size, but I like that mix especially with Lebron at SF and Stockton at the point.
I was happy Bosh made it this far.
Yeah, you definitely need some beef. Bosh is going to get killed against the great centers in this league.
Yep.
But you may have found a good pick and roll partner for Stockton.
Yep. Bosh is an excellent potential power forward there. I'd just prefer to see him next to a strong defensive center, like a Dikembe.
I do have Rodman who was pesky as hell against Shaq and Hakeem in the early 90's. Obviously Rodman can't defend them for long periods of time, but I think people forget just how versatile and how good Rodman was at guarding essentially 4 positions.
I do have a couple of guys in mind, that I'm hoping will be there for my two picks in the 6th round, that should add some necessary size to my interior (I probably should pick up a SG at some point as well).
Early 90's Shaq is not the Shaq that Rodman would see here. I understand your point but, just saying that Rodman at his best is going to have a very tough time guarding the bigger centers when they are at their best.
I thought Pippen and Jordan were the main reasons Rodman was so successful against Shaq. It was their ball pressure in the backcourt, half court traps, and harassment on post entry passes that slowed down the Magic's + Lakers' offenses.
It led to Shaq getting the ball later in the shot clock and being able to neutralize him with one double team instead of Shaq being able to get the ball early in the shot clock and then re-post after the double. Creating both lower/better post position and more opportunities for his teammates to play off of him.
In order to create a similar scenario, you'll need to have that type of defensive quickness/athleticism + defensive talent (and importantly ability to create turnovers) to create the correct platform for a player like Rodman to be successful against a guy like Shaq.
