So he stays in the floor while the stinger goes away and he gets carried out of the floor because a torn meniscus. Is that the best you guys can find as examples for Pierce being a drama queen when he gets hurt through his 12 years of basketball?
The head bandage after a playoff loss to the pacers.
How long did it take to dig that one up? That bandage was meant to call out the refs....for not calling the obvious fouls.
It instantly comes to mind. It's Paul Pierce looking for a little extra attention when the cameras are on. I think the guy is super tough, but he is a little attention seeking at times during the playoffs. He doesn't lay on the floor because he's wimpy, he does it for the attention.
yea right...he seeks attention....should be start a thread about that too?
Yeah but are you denying that he over-reacted a little bit on Saturday? Because to me that's kind of irrefutable. He might have been scared, and he might have been traumatized or whatever by his earlier shoulder injury..but I believe pretty firmly he could've stayed on his feet and walked it off.
Again, I'm not calling him a drama queen, if it was a 'stinger' as BC says, those things hurt...a lot. I'm just saying lets not confuse Paul Pierce with John McClane either. Guy can play though injuries as well as anyone else when he needs to, but when he feels like he's been hurt, he's not scared of getting a little floor wax on his jersey.
This is the problem I have with it, the staying on his feet part that you guys keep mentioning. Didn't you guys see first that he was unbalanced after passing the ball in an awkward angle. Secondly, didn't you guys see him trip with Q's or whomever's feet? Thirdly, didn't you guys see the shove that Q gave him afterwards as he was unbalanced?
He fell. So now we must exhort him to stand himself up while his shoulder/neck is going through a stinger?
Really, what's the big deal of him staying on the floor while the sensation passes? I still don't understand it.
Personally I saw him being unbalanced and maybe stumble with a ghost of a shove from Q-Ritch.
But its not so much the hitting the floor as the writhing on the floor that gets me. If he fell he fell. I'm just saying some guys lie there and some guys don't. Pierce is one of the lying there guys.
I agree though that I don't see what the big deal is either. I just think to say that the other POV doesn't have any validity is wrong, it was pretty clear to me that he could've gotten up whenever he wanted.
Oh yeah, that's true. When Pierce falls he usually takes his time there, but I think it was very evident that he was going through a stinger. I mean, this is nothing new, he's been battling it for weeks now. And how he looked after he got up it was also evident of what he was going through.
I just don't see why people are so easily ready to go against him in this particular case, especially when there's all this evidence of what he was going through.
I might have mistaken this for a Celtics site. I'm not here asking for unconditional love, but as Celtics fans at the very least I would expect the benefit of the doubt, particularly given the circumstances and the injury he has been complaining about for weeks.
