Garnett suspended for Game 2

Hopefully this fires up the Celtics.  They still have enough talent on the roster to be better than the Heat despite Garnett's absence.  We'll see.

This is Rasheed's opportunity to win a game for us.  Let's see how he responds.

I have absolutely no faith in Sheed or big baby what so ever. The thing with KG is yeah he threw an elbow, but I don't think he meant to actually hit anyone. Someone is grabbing you, your immediate reaction is going to be trying to get them off of you.

Well, if the Celtics can't beat the Heat because they lose KG for 1 game of the series, then there's no chance they could get to the ECF with him.  So this shouldn't matter if they're the team we hope they are.

I think the C's can beat Miami w/o KG.

I'm surprised JO didn't get suspended for leveling BBD into the Heat bench during the melee, especially with his history.  That would've been both fair, and also balanced out the impact (suspending both KG and JO).

But I think we're still okay.  If anything, it puts playoff pressure on Sheed to deliver on his promise(s).  I have some doubts there.  I think Shelden will outplay him, and of the 4 bigs we have left (Sheed, Perk, BBD, and Shelden), I think Shelden is perhaps the only levelheaded one-important, since composure will be an asset in this series.

Is there any real separation between these two sides without Garnett in the lineup?

• Boston -- Perk + Sheed + Davis + Shelden/Scal
• Miami -- Haslem + Jermaine + Beasley + Anthony

Perimeter Players

• Boston -- Rajon + Pierce + Ray + Tony + Finley
• Miami -- Wade + Richardson + Wright + Arroyo + Chalmers

That looks like a fairly even contest to me.

i have to think the Cs knew this was coming. at least it gives them today and tomorrow to get ready. start sheed...

but the key to the game is ray allen. we need him to score points

You can do the matchups game a lot and it is helpful most of the time, but when you have Wade breaking down the initial line of defense, it is the bigs that have to come through and provide great team defense. THIS is where KG will be missed the most.

I'd rather start Davis because I think Sheed would do more damage to our team defense.

This suspension is like some kid getting in trouble at school for standing up for himself against the school bully that gets away with everything he does because the kid can't take it anymore.

If this team is who we thought it was before the playoffs, they will lose game 2.

it's kind of funny actually. KG was one of the most popular players inside the NBA, now hes one of the most hated if not the hated. no one can say KG is very likeable for most fans. he talked about us booing the celts and how he didnt appreciate it, but c'mon, it's not like he made sure to stay out of the situation

well...we know the key is tony on wade. sheed/baby/sheldon gotta do the little things. heat really dont have an inside game at all.....o neal disappears as the game moves on...haslam is just a roll guy...anthony is a sheldon....really need to get physical with beasly....

don't really fear richardson....i would like to see some daniels on chalmers if possible.

and i hope richardfat's words fire this team up

to me...ray is the key. they won without him doing anything yesterday. all we need is 15-20 from him.  plus we need rondo to attack all game...
