Not surprised. It was the only option for the NBA really. And the right call.

Ouch.  We really need to win it without him.  We can't be tied headed to Miami

McHale is one of the announcers and they are talking about how times have changed so they just showed his clothesline on Rambis...he said he went to the league and they rescinded the foul since he "ran" into his forearm....lol

Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics has been suspended without pay for one game for striking the Miami Heat’s Quentin Richardson in the head with an elbow, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. Richardson has been fined $25,000 for his role in the altercation.

The incident occurred with 40 seconds remaining in the fourth period of the Celtics’ 85-76 victory over the Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Saturday at TD Garden.

Garnett will serve his suspension Tuesday when the Celtics face the Heat in Game 2 at TD Garden.

In terms of talent, the Heat and Celtics are evenly matched without Garnett in the lineup.

Both are .500 teams.

this could be a blessing in disguise that we can use for the entire postseason.  if we come out and win game 2 without kg and have a chip on our shoulder, it might just give us the motivation that we have been lacking.

obviously i want kg playing, but sometimes when a major player goes down for whatever the reason, teams step up

I think KG should be out a game. I also think that with all those Heat players pushing and pulling that one of them HAD to do something too.

No blessing in disguise, this only hurts the Celtics chances of winning game 2.

As usual in life, the jerks who start fights aren't the ones who end up punished for it.

We'll be Fine without KG.

I have faith that Sheed, Glen, Shelden and Perk will step up. And Ray Ray and Pierce will shoot better this time, too.

How does Haslem avoid a suspension when he threw an elbow? Magloire for grabbing KG's arms and leaving the bench. Arroyo for leaving the bench for starting it?

Would make a great article.
