Let me just add (and forgive if it's been mentioned already) that, isn't it basketball etiquette that when a player on the opposing team is in the floor with an (apparent) injury, that your team clears out and gives space (for trainers and medical people, etc.)? I don't see how this happening near the Miami bench makes that any less the unwritten rule-when a player is down, stay away, period.
I don't get why Miami players were even around (that were in the game, like Q and JO), or why the bench players and coaches for Miami didn't clear out toward the corner to give space. Eddie Lacerte had to weave through Miami players to get to Paul.
If there is any lesson from this, it is how quickly the officials can lose control of a playoff game, and, if suspensions flow, how the officials' failure in those situations can potentially decide championships.
