Is it me, or does Haslem elbow Baby in the face? I mean, if the first KG elbow is defined as an elbow, isn't Haslem's move there, as evidenced by the first video posted by vinnie, the same?

Definately happened, dlpin. I saw that too. It happened right after Baby walked up to help KG and he was just talking, not being physical. Next thing that happened was BBD getting that elbow in the face and then 4 or 5 guys jumping him like a street gang. Refs ignored that. I guess seniority has something to do with it. But doesn't make it right. He should get a tech.
Oh wait, I just heard on the news that Haslem did get a tech. Maybe it was for the elbow to BBD.

Yeah, but if elbow to the face is an ejection+suspension, the same thing should apply to Haslem as well.

Yes, absolutely. BBD got the worst of the whole thing. The whole thing scared me. It was really violent. I hope it's all reviewed and those thugs get what they deserve.

I'm still up and down as far as whether KG has a chance to avoid suspension or not.

But, as far as what I think SHOULD happen, I'm with the "if you suspend KG, you suspend Q-Rich too" bandwagon.

At the very least, if you feel you need to suspend KG simply to set a precedent for the remainder of the playoffs that you can't elbow people like that, no matter what the circumstance, then you need to suspend Q-Rich to set a similar precedent that says you can't instigate fights like that, assuming what all involved said is true, ESPECIALLY over an injured player. I may have [dang] well thrown something across my dorm room if Pierce sustained an additional injury  because of Q-Rich's stupidity. That is flat out DANGEROUS, plain and simple.

I mean, do you guys think we'd feel the need to discuss whether Q-Rich would be suspended, for example, if he instigated a fight like that over an injured Lebron?

I also wanna chance the idea that the NBA office may not be happy with Q-Rich's words after the game, considering he made it more or less clear he didn't go over to Pierce simply to say "Are you ok?".

KG may have messed up, but at least he seems to regret it. Q-Rich further risked Pierce's health and may as well have laughed about it.

...Well, here's to playoff basketball, right?

Actually I don't think Richardson will be suspended. In the past, instigating fights have led to fines, not suspensions.

I do think Haslem should be suspended, though. He rushed to the scene to escalate it, elbowed BBD in the face, and then pushed him down.

I don't think anyone should be suspended. Garnett got ejected for his elbow, fines should be given to him and Q. Richardson.

to me, Haslem throwing Baby down was worse than anything Garnett did.  but he probably won't suffer any repercussions.

It was actually O'Neal, if I'm viewing the video properly.

Speaking of which, I found it entertaining that Hubie was lauding Jermaine for his peace-making while the video showed him talking smack and shoving Baby around.

I'm hoping the NBA takes the circumstances into account with all of this. We'll see what happens....

I could go with no suspensions on this because I think Q got what he deserved, that is a good shot to the head for his incredibly disrespectful and classless act of taunting. But if any one person should get suspended it has to be Q. He doesn't do what he did, nothing even happens.

The league should take into account the well documented dislike between Q and PP. Therefore, it was clear that Q was going over for taunting only. He had the entire rest of the court to walk by to his bench, he actually was having to walk over Pierce to get to the bench.

That shoud be the first question asked and addressed by the league. And, based on that incitement by Q, I think KG should probably be given a pass. You have some other player form another team trying to walk over your teammate who is on the floor.

Perhps the Refs should be suspended for not pulling Q out of there or for not getting immediately between Q and KG.

That also could have stopped everything asap.

He will be. It is an automatic suspension.

And for what he did he should be suspended. Can`t lose control like that...
