In the 80's NBA was like it should. Things like this

happened and it wasn't such a big deal like every little thing today. Mchale played the next game.

Suns lost the series vs Spurs over technical bs. And that maybe was their last real chance for the title.

I think he deserves to be suspended for the elbow.

As classless as Q Rich is, Q Rich was correct. Pierce does act like he has a career ending injury all the time then he returns to the game. That's really funny that he mentioned that during the game.

Pierce is the boy who cried wolf of injuries.

Do you have any evidence of Pierce ever being close to crying wolf apart from the 2008 NBA Finals?

PP is tough. I don't think he faked getting stabbed in the chest and coming right back without missing a game. He's been injured a bunch and played through it. I don't think he's faked anything.
He's super tough as far as playing hurt, but I have to agree that he has appeared to have a little drama queen in him in certain big games that everyone is watching.  Remember when he wrapped his head in a bandage after not getting hit by Jamaal Tinsley against the pacers in the playoffs?  Also the wheelchair incident in 2008.  He is tough as nails but I think he also likes putting on a show at times.

I mean, the average person doesn't have to lay on the ground for 5 minutes due to a hurting shoulder.  His legs were fine.

I think that stuff is Paul trying to make a point that the refs didn't call blatant fouls against his opponents, and he's right. in all cases.

Haslem/JO's joint take-down of Big Baby isn't getting any press.

I really hope this doesn't end up as a Q-Rich/KG trade for Game 2.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

The way I see it, KG deserves to "miss" a game.  However, he was already ejected, and as Roy pointed out earlier, that's all the rulebook requires.  With Dwight Howard, the difference was, he wasn't ejected.

If the NBA really wants to get crazy and suspend KG, fine, but BBD, Richardson, Haslem, and half of Miami's bench should also be out next game too.  Quite a few of them were on the court and off the "bench area."  And on the bench at that point (and over the line) was Carlos Arroyo.

That may be so, but if Kobe Bryant did this, we'd be all over him for laying on the ground too long.  Pierce should have gotten up and moved on.  I do see KG getting suspended for a game.  The elbow was just as bad as Howards.  He threw it with intent to hit him, he'll be sitting game 2.
do it

I think Pierce legitimately aggravated his shoulder stinger.

I just don't get why people think this about Pierce. If Pierce is hurt and it shows on his face it doesn't mean he is faking an injury. He was hurt in the finals in '08. It wasn't as serious as he thought so he came back.

It's not like Pierce is rolling around on the floor for twenty minutes every time something happens to him like the dude in Cleveland does.

Why isn't the media mentioning Haslem elbowing BBD?
That the refs lost control? That Heat players left their bench?

We'd blame Kobe? Don't put words in my mouth, please. I wouldn't.

  • You say when......
I say he already was out for a game, that game. There was more than just that elbow, it is just that is about all you could see from that angle, you can't believe that that was the only blow thrown in all that.....what about Oneal up off the bench, on the floor, pushing BBD...."Up off the bench, onto the floor to get into a scrum" That is ejection stuff..and he has a lot of experience with that.....Miami will be throwing it next game, pushing, holding..watch Haslem, he is a hit man, and Oneal....come on, we know what he does, The angry peanut (head)  Mr Peanuts angry cousin!....!

I don't know if KG gets suspended or not, but if he isn't and Magliore is, get ready for a whole lot of whining about pro-Celtic bias.  I think the NBA might be more likely to suspend him just due to last season's controversies in the Bulls series.

I think the whole thing hinges on whether KG is viewed to have thrown the elbow as part of shaking Magliore off him, or to intentionally hit Richardson in the face.  My personal guess is a little of both, but who knows how the league will interpret it.

if the NBA watches the whole thing slowly...they will see richardfat baiting the situation (he admited that to the heat trainer)....you will see haslem throwing a elbow and landing it...you will see Magloire (one of the dirtiest players around) holding KG up in the crowd so Richardfat could throw a punch (he said he decided not to..that is b/c richardfat is a coward)...

so if KG goes...somebody on miami better go too....and i still say the rondo v heinrich dust up was 10 times worst last season
