I'm happy so far with this:

PF: Karl Malone ('96-'97): 27.4/9.9/4.5/.550%, League MVP, All-NBA 1st Team All-Defense 1st Team

C: Alonzo Mourning ('98-'99): 20.1/11.0/1.6/3.9 BPG, 2nd in league MVP, All-NBA 1st Team, ALl-Defense 1st

To get a 1st and a 2nd MVP, 1st team all nba and 1st team all-defense at the 4/5 spot is a good way to anchor a team, I say.

I'd love to see how your front court matches up with Mchale and   Olajuwon.

Mourning was a True Old-School Center back in the day..out of Georgetown in the same mold of Patrick and Dikembe. I always liked him, an would've picked him 1st, but I wanted as much length as I could.

And your Malone pick? Karl Malone was always under-rated as a Defender. Man was so strong that he practically pushed opponents out of the paint. His offense was Always there, too.

Kudos to Nickagneta for this! Roy Hobbs' Pick Two Draft and Nick's games have been welcome breaks here.

When this game was first announced back in April, I thought that it would end up being a welcome break in the event Our Celtics lost to CLE, but Lo and Behold Our Boys are right here in the thick of things!!

(Oddly enough - the two FrontLiners I thought about going with are still around).....

Oh, before I forget, I would like all owners who see this to give fellow owner Redz a TP for taking over our beloved Boston Celtics and keeping them a viable entity in this game. I promised 10 so here is me giving him 1.

TP Redz! You've been a regular ML Carr .. I mean Danny Ainge breathing life back into the C's!

Both are supreme defensive front court combos, that is for sure

Added Isiah Thomas. Rationale: Scoring punch is good so far, need a table setter/clutch experience to help malone get his 27 points in the first 43 minutes of the game, then take over himself for the last 5. He's the weakest pick physically/stats, but we need some veteran leadership who can spread the ball and command enough respect to juggle all the egos that an all-time team will end up having. and he was still good enough to be finals MVP in 89-90 (and his 18-9.4 is not too shabby either).

A very solid PG to have.

Decided to continue to address my frontcourt with the Kemp pick.

A very solid rebounder and explosive scorer in his day.  I think he's a great complement to Ewing's inside/outside game and having Kemp run the fast break with Magic is going to be a sight to be seen.

Re: Isiah, you aren't going to find a better floor leader in this draft at the PG position. I would take Isiah's leadership skills, toughness, and decision making on the court(I'm not talking about his GM decision making) over just about anyone else's in this this draft.

Re: The Kemp pick, with Magic and Ewing, you may have the best 3 man rebounding tandem in the league thus far. That is a BIG team

I'm definitely a big fan of both Milwaukee and Golden State so far.  The Jazz and Nets stand out, too.  There isn't a majorly disappointing team to me yet, although I've disagreed with individual picks.

Utah is willing to package a 6th and 7th rounder for a late 4th and a 10th

Also:

Utah will take offers on this last pick of the third round. Would need a 4th and more

Shawn Kemp was on a Short List of PFs that I researched last night and this morning.

Great Pick!

Not necessarily.  Johnson was a heck of a point guard.  You maybe could have looked at another position, but among point guards, Johnson was way up there at his peak.

I don't think so.

I mean, look at his numbers in the early 90s.  Pretty astounding stuff.  20/10 with points & assists?  That's insane.

Good pick.

Yea part of the problem was I didnt what position to make with this pick. I decided on a playmaker to set up Howard and Larry...theres a ton of wings and sf still out there. PGs are hard to come by thats why I went PG.

Yeah my rationale for choosing Chauncey was that I needed a PG who is an All-Star, but didn't need to dominate the ball. He can if needed.

Very Strong for a PG, with a good post-up game.

Big time shot taker and maker. Mr. Big Shot! Ice-Cold water in his veins.

Can manage egos. I made up my mind that our team was going to be Big-Oriented, with McHale and Dream getting about 30-35 shots just between them.

Chauncey really impressed me back in the day - 2004-05, when Detroit beat LA.

I know it seemed odd at the time, but I researched Chauncey. He was on a list of 4 PGs I wanted.
