I'm thinking I reached a little with the kevin johson pick?

I don't think so.

I mean, look at his numbers in the early 90s.  Pretty astounding stuff.  20/10 with points & assists?  That's insane.

Good pick.

He was my backup if Isiah was taken. But I figured I was safe once Mutombo went to san antonio, since the next three teams had Nash, Kidd, and Magic.

Yeah, Kemp is a very good pick. I was thinking about him in the Pacers direction.

as an outsider looking in, im scratching my head with some of the picks.  some of the players selected were GREAT, but in the 80s.  the draft is for players during the 90's and 2k's.  maybe im wrong and it is based on the entire career of any1 who played during those eras, rather than the player's performance during those actual decades.  im not participating, but am reading a little in the threads, so like i said, i could be wrong since i havent read the rules.

edit---> i see u have to specify the particular season u choose

I think you get to choose the best season of the drafted player from any time between '89 - '90 to '09 - '10.

I might as well put the seasons out there for my three guys.

John Stockton
1994-1995 (not his best statistical season, but fits the team better with his shear shooting efficiency, his improved defense, and he still led the league in assists)
All Star, 1st team All NBA, 2nd team All Defense, 13.9 win shares, league leader in APG & TS% (65.1)

MPG 35.0, FG .542%, 3PT .449%, FT .804%, ORPG 0.7, DRPG 2.4, Tot Reb 3.1, APG 12.3, SPG 2.4, BPG 0.3, TPG 3.3, FPG 2.6, PPG 14.7

Lebron James
2009-2010
league MVP, All Star, 1st team All NBA, 1st team All Defense, 18.5 win shares, league leader in PER, win shares, & offensive win shares

MPG 39.0, FG .503%, 3PT .333%, FT .767, ORPG 0.9, DRPG 6.4, Tot Reb 7.3, APG 8.6, SPG 1.6, BPG 1.0, TPG 3.4, FPG 1.6, PPG 29.7

Dennis Rodman
1991-1992
All Star, 3rd Team All NBA, 1st Team All Defense, 12.6 win shares, league leader in RPG & Defensive Win Shares (personally I think he was robbed out of his third straight defensive player of the year, but he didn't win it this year)

MPG 40.3, FG .539%, 3PT .317%, FT .600%, ORPG 6.4, DRPG 12.3, Tot Reb 18.7, APG 2.3, SPG 0.8, BPG 0.9, TPG 1.7, FPG 3.0, PPG 9.8

As I stated in the rules, final seasons won't have to be revealed until after the last round and each owner will be able to "present" their team and talk about it. Those are some awesome years but you won't be held to those specific years as the finalization of which year you are chosing isn't due until after the draft.

That's going to be an advantage to owning someone like, for instance, Paul Pierce because although Pierce as a SF is great, depending on how that team he is on grows, that team might need the high scoring SG Paul Pierce later on. Same with Patrick Ewing. Do you want defensive beast, early Ewing or the higher scoring more offensively geared later Ewing?

For someone who drafts, say Larry Bird, they are pretty much held into using just that one great year he had in 1989-90.

Little game strategy that makes things interesting.

Question: Are we allowed to take a guy that has played multiple positions and place him at a certain position - even though he may not be playing that spot now?

We are free to place our guys where we see fit - within logic and based off of past positions they have played?

Example - player A played SG in say 1998, but maybe you want to place him at SF for this Historical Draft game?

In other words - as long as he has had a history of playing multiple positions we can place him where we see fit - regardless of the year?

Yeah, definitely.

Even if that player doesn't have a history of playing that position, please feel free to do so.

lol..no man you won't do much better at PG than the man you selected.

It's because of That Man that I'm having to revise some future picks.

Magic is giving me grief even after his retirement. More reasons for me to dislike LA.

I know I don't have to put it out there now, but I figured if I knew, I might as well.
