And how many have the Cavs scored on the Knicks at this point?  74 points at halftime.  It's a disgrace.

I can't believe D'Antoni keeps getting jobs.  In a league where defense wins games, he keeps getting jobs despite not caring about it.

So if Doc had played Walker, told him to shoot whenever he wanted regardless of whether it was in the offensive flow or not and didn't have to play a stitch of defense we could have had Billy Walker playing like a scoring machine as well

...

...

I would rather have a guy know how to play in a system and play defense thank you

I considered him for the over/under game. Too bad I didn't take him.  :-\

I've always hated this argument, because we sign vets and no matter how effective (or ineffective for that matter), Doc gives them playing time. He usually doesn't give the rooks the same benefit, even if they seem to many outside observers as worthy of the chance. This was more glaring last year, when we were hurting with injuries in the wing positions and Doc kept overplaying Ray and Pierce needlessly, when he could've easily given Walker a bit of playing time consistently. And yet, from the first day Marbury and Moore were available, he gave them vast playing time.

I've watched him play against the Celtics and the Grizzlies

D'Antoni is allowing him to shoot whenever he wants and is having him play no defense, just like everyone else on that team

I don't have to watch tonight to know how he's being handled

I've seen how he's being handled and coached twice already

My guess is tonight isn't any different

What has he and TMac held LeBron to less than 30 points at the half so he's doing his job

LOL

I concur.

I think Marbury played his first day with the team. Dude didn't even play ball for months. But Doc somehow found minutes for Marbury on his first day. Doc philosophies needs re-thinking. Billy should've gotten a lot more minutes last season. We got marquis now, I'll give Doc a pass this season.

What about Powe? Dude is already ballin!! Rather have Powe busted knee than Shelden or Scal

Well, Marbury was an all-star, and it wasn't like he was closing in on 40 or anything. He was a career 20 point scorer. I do agree with you on Walker, though.

He could have been so effective if given the chance. I think even Giddens could of found a niche. He was a good rebounder. I don't regret the trade, I think Nate will do us some good.. and regardless, it's not like Walker was going to play for us, anyway.

I do miss Bill, though.. He SHOULD have played.

is kevin mchale sitting on the bench, covertly eating a piece of pizza?  ;)

That's because Marbury was a point guard.  Doc was desperate to try to find someone that could run things when Rondo wasn't in.  Unfortunately, Giddens and Walker didn't fit the bill.

Also, if Marbury had all of the sudden clicked, the Celtics would have had an All Star coming off the bench.  That's also something that Walker and Giddens couldn't claim.

I don't often defend Doc.  I think he deserves criticism for lots of things.  Playing young players isn't one of them.  The '07-08 team had four very young players in Rondo, Perkins, BBD, and Powe in their rotation.  To say that a guy who has four guys that young in his championship rotation doesn't play youngsters is just plain ludicrous.

As I already said, the Cavs have scored 74 points at halftime.  It's a disgrace.  Obviously D'Antoni couldn't care less about defense.

So you are not watching the game just saying stuff then. Knicks have quit that is true but I don't think you know whether Walker can play defence or not you're just speculating
