I read on here that KG is terrible and has been all year.
Then I go to hoopdata.com and see that he leads the team in win shares/game and is a close second to Rondo in PER.
Surely that's a mistake, because I just read in the Sports Guy's column that he's untradeable! And in this thread he's only played even decent in 5 or 10 games out of the first 51!
Then I go to 82games.com and see that he leads the team in Net PER and on-court +/-, is second in net +/-, and leads the team in Roland rating.
Well those are just math geeks, what do they know. Then, I think back to how this season the Celtics' record corresponds almost exactly with his health. If he hasn't been doing anything all year, why did the team's struggles start when he went down?
Clearly KG isn't currently what we'd need him to be if we're going to win 18. Also clearly, he is only a few weeks removed from his last injury absence. Three weeks into the season there was a similar clamoring that KG was washed up too, then suddenly he started making those alley-oops and the team was unbeatable again.
Give it some time. He's terrible and done forever and should be shut down for the season to be replaced by Scal or Shelden. Good grief, y'all...hyperbole much?
