I wanted to mention the blocked shots also. On one of them, he was blocked by Casspi  :o

meh...they let them play at both ends. i liked it..it was rough and they refs let them battle. the one i was talking about was right there at the end where KG just got destroyed as he went up

You keep saying this, but the Kings feed show that Thompson got all arm. And Thompson was bailed out with a touch foul on the very next play so they weren't just letting them play all night.

He sure does. My optimism is fading for his recovery this season. Anyone who knows me can tell you if I lose faith in something, especially with the C's, then hope is close to being lost in reality. Not there yet but he just. doesnt. look. right.

To each his own you saw it different.  The caspi so call block was a foul through my eyes. I sense you have a slightly more pessimistic view of things.  The Johnson block (help defender) was a foul as well.  But I agree he needs to get stronger around the rim for us to have a shot. I'm not willing to give up on him or them yet.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
the guy is hurt...he's laying his life down for this team.  he's a competitor, and those types just don't lay down on their team.

i'm not saying i agree with him being on the floor, but you can't stop guys like him from playing...it's in their psyche.

he can't carry this team, but he'll give you everything he has, and i respect that.

He looks better than earlier in terms of his knee movement and stride running.  But I fully agree that he is not himself or even close and its very noticable on the defensive end.  He is doing an adequate job on guile (like the pitcher).
He looks hesitant with the knee in running/jumping so its either in his head or he is not 100%.  I disagree with anyone thinking he's done etc, he isn't far removed from being the nba defensive player of the year and one of the most dominate defenders I've seen.  Ideas: I feel he should be coming off the bench or ray.  Put someone else out there with starters for energy.  Work either one in against subs and limit minutes, ray looked like his back was really stiff and he and pp haven't had lift in legs for quite sometime.

The crazy part is that people keep forgetting that he missed about 10 games just recently. And for as bad as he is, he's 53.6% from the field in the month of February, turning the ball over once per game, and he just came from Sacramento grabbing 9 rebounds in 31 minutes of play. He's averaging 12 points a game, which is nothing to sniff at... not KG-like numbers, but more than "terrible".

Again, the exaggeration going around here boggles my mind. Of course, KG isn't were he's supposed to be, and certainly has ways to go getting back into form (to whatever form he'll manage to get) but his demise has been completely overstated.

You can't just look at the FG%

KG is not nearly as effective on offense as he was even 2 seasons ago.

- He no longer is able to get on the fast break with Rondo, which makes us a very slow team
- He no longer can play in the low post on offense
- Can't finish alley oops
- Hardly ever gets an offensive rebound or put back dunk

He has lost it and its understandable, the guy has played over 40000 intense mins. Be realistic about it , its not going to get much better than this...

Of course he's not the KG we know, but that he's terrible is just completely wrong. And again, he just came back from another injury that kept him away for some weeks.

I think he looks pretty bad just about any PF in the league can take him off the dribble. Guys who have played that many mins don't get better they get worse. You can disagree, but just go look at just about every player in the history of the NBA who has played that many mins

He can't jump and move latterally , that's the problem and that doesn't improve with age. He has been back for 3 weeks now and nothing has changed....

It's not just his age. He had knee surgery last summer. Most players don't get back to full strength the first year after surgery. If KG was healthier net year than he is today or even healthier in May than he is today it wouldn't be age-defying, it would be a normal recovery.

Ok.....

If you expect a 34 year old big man who is in top 20 all time mins played is going to recover to be even 75% of what he was even 2 years ago, you are going to be really dissapointed. He has been playing in the NBA for 15 years.

His game depended on his athleticism and he just doest have it anymore

Ummm...everyone in the NBA depends on athleticism, but some more than others. One of KG's strengths is his b-ball IQ - especially on defense. KG may never be his former self athletically, but he still adds value because of his understanding of the game.

Contrast KG with a guy like Steve Francis - now there's a guy who relied on athleticism. Once his athleticism was gone, he was out of the league.
