According to Nate's latest tweets (a few  minutes ago), it seems that the deal is done, we should hear official confirmation soon :

Well, it is one of the things people think about when they think of MJ and it will probably be the thing Robinson is most remembered for (like Webb), but his participation in this year's contest should be like a -1 to his dunk contest win total. It should bring his number down to 1.

When you play for the Knicks, I guess it does.

I would be glad to see Nate show some excitement or joy due to him playing for the C's but maybe he can't talk about it until the deal is officially done?

Let me know after you win one lol. I'd say so... we make fun of them now, but how many times haven't we looked with fondness on how Larry won his 3-point contest and on those MJ vs. Wilkins battles? In the scheme of things, they're meaningless, but it's something we can't take away from them and their experience gaining it, particularly for someone who hasn't won anything yet and has only known what he has experienced in a losing situation with the Knicks. I'm all for him celebrating his dunk contest wins, now let's look forward to more important things.

But I don't understand how the deal can be finalized if "there are so many moving parts to this"?
