this trade does not make us better.
sure he can score but:
he's not known for playing with in the system
he's not a defender, and with a hobbled KG on the ball d is more important then ever
his 'tude is questionable at best

all in all, if this is it danny will have done nothing to address the major issues the team has.
our major concern is defense, especially run stifling reserves who can step in when the starters are flagging. we need a young athletic swing forward defender (best case deng, worst warrick)
we need a tough swing guard to hit jumpers, and shut down scorers.

Sounds like Salmons, Hinrich,Thomas to me or Deng/Hinrich. I'll take either.

Nate wouldn't be my first choice for a backup PG, but I am all for adding more scoring to our bench.

I remember a little while back they polled the players to see who were the biggest trash talkers in the league.  If Nate comes here we'll have 4 of the top 5.
4 out of the top five trash talkers?  Sheed, KG, Nate, and who else? Rondo? Perk? Who?

I believe the other was Pierce.

Does House and Giddens for Nate + filler work?

Because according to Forsberg, both Eddie and JR are missing from the Celtics practice in L.A :

FWIW, 12 guys here. Only absences so far: Eddie House and JR Giddens.

Rondo is also in the top 10 (9th) :D

Pierce on Robinson rumors: "If it happens it happens, I'm just focused on [Lakers]."

Also, Spears says in his latest update that if the deal for Robinson gets done, it will get done tomorrow. Also, the Knicks don't want a first round pick, they will be fine with expirings for Nate :

Quote
The Boston Celtics remain in deep talks with the New York Knicks in hopes of acquiring Nate Robinson, but no deal is expected to be finalized until Thursday, league sources with knowledge of the negotiations told Yahoo! Sports.

The Celtics now appear to be the only team interested in acquiring Robinson, and the Knicks are intent on moving him. But the guard’s base-year status – in addition to the $1 million bonus he’ll be owed for reaching the playoffs with Boston – has complicated a possible deal. Sources say the Knicks are seeking only expiring contracts for Robinson and aren’t demanding a first-round draft pick.

In addition, the Knicks might need to send another player with an expiring contract, in addition to Robinson, to make the deal work. The Celtics would likely waive the other player. Possible Celtics who could be involved in the deal include guard Eddie House, forward Brian Scalabrine, guard Tony Allen, swingman J.R. Giddens and swingman Bill Walker.

As Yahoo! Sports reported on Jan. 15, the Celtics have expressed interest in Robinson ever since his agent asked the Knicks to trade the three-time dunk champion. Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni benched Robinson for almost the entire month of December.

I don't know guys, I think it's kind of a good deal.  Nate adds youth and athleticism to the team, something we desperately need at this moment.

I like this deal.  I think House is underrated; however, I feel like our second unit (and to an extent even the Big Three as they age) relied too much on set plays designed to get people like House, Rasheed, or even BBD open jumpers.  The problem was, when the plays broke down, too often people were hoisting bad shots.  Even when they didn't break down, too much of the offense was based around jumpers.

Nate helps with that. He's not a world changer.  However, he can bring the ball up the court better than House can.  He's not a bad three point shooter.  And if Daniels runs the offense at least some of the time in the half court, he could be dangerous penetrating from the wings.  He'll also be a nice option with 10 seconds left on the shot clock to penetrate to the basket and create his own shot if nothing else is working.

The other missing part of the Nate Robinson-Eddie House deal is expected to be Celtics guard J.R. Giddens, Y! Sports has learned.

Not sure what else we are getting because Giddens and House for Robinson doesn't work on trade checker.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Nice, I was just wondering about that.  They have three exceptions according to Trade Checker.
