I bet he'll be the first Nate convert once he starts playing.

Does winning the slam dunk contest really count as an accomplishment?

Well, it is one of the things people think about when they think of MJ and it will probably be the thing Robinson is most remembered for (like Webb), but his participation in this year's contest should be like a -1 to his dunk contest win total. It should bring his number down to 1.

When you play for the Knicks, I guess it does. :P

I would be glad to see Nate show some excitement or joy due to him playing for the C's but maybe he can't talk about it until the deal is officially done?

Let me know after you win one lol. I'd say so... we make fun of them now, but how many times haven't we looked with fondness on how Larry won his 3-point contest and on those MJ vs. Wilkins battles? In the scheme of things, they're meaningless, but it's something we can't take away from them and their experience gaining it, particularly for someone who hasn't won anything yet and has only known what he has experienced in a losing situation with the Knicks. I'm all for him celebrating his dunk contest wins, now let's look forward to more important things.

Latest from the Herald :

A league souce close to negotiations just said the Celtics and Knicks have finalized a trade that will send Eddie House to the Knicks in exchange for guard Nate Robinson.

A second source also confirmed that Celtics forward J.R. Giddens has likely been included in the deal.

There is also still much that could happen, with the Knicks still attempting to send other players to other teams.

“(Giddens) is probably going to be part of this,” said the source. “And at the end of the day Eddie is probably going to end up in New York. But there are so many moving parts to this, a number of things can still happen.”

So, the deal is finalized, but we learn nothing new since we know JR + House for Nate doesn't work straight up. Or maybe it does according to Roy because their reported salaries are not accurate, and thus their real salaries would make the deal work just ike this.

But I don't understand how the deal can be finalized if "there are so many moving parts to this"?

Some random player needs to be included, probably just to be waived by the Celts. Don't think much on it.

It means they've agreed upon a final "if all else fails" scenario that works for both teams.

So it will happen no matter what, the exact form is all that is left in question.

I say we leave the title as is until all the details are out there.

I agree.  How is something finalized when we don't know the form and structure of it and there seems to be some contigencies floating around?
