Nate trade not "official" but done - and @WojYahooNBA says may not finalize until tomorrow - but sounds like it is House/2nd Rnd pick.

Good news that we didn't give up a 1st, if true.

Yep.  I'd be happy with that.
If correct it is Eddie House + pick #55 for Nate Robinson.
That is a solid deal from the Cs p.o.v.

I don't see where this trade alone helps us get past Cleveland or Orlando or Atlanta

Toronto, yeah but those other teams, nope

We'll need more than this and this all but rules out the addition of Hinrich for just expiring contracts

Ray for Hinrich not so great but Hinrich added to this team would have been world's better than this move

I can sense you are very upset by this but, just for clarification do you think DA made this trade thinking it would be the move that got Boston to the finals?

If this is all there is

I DON"T GET IT!!!

Sorry folks, makes no sense

This team needs an adjustment in the starting lineup by trading Ray
This team needs a real rebounding big off the bench that can play defense
This team needs a defensive minded 3/4 to spell Pierce
This team needs a defensive minded PG that can run an offense and distribute the ball

Nate is about as far from any of nthese things as one can get

I just don't get it

Though we'll see what the details are

If they get Wilson Chandler too, then okay otherwise, bad move in my mind

BTW, I don't expect them to get Wilson Chandler

I think having a player on the second unit who is a "microwave" type of player is potentially useful.  I don't, however, like Nate Robinson very much; the guy is a punk.  Still, if he keeps his attitude in check, I think he can help.

I'm not in love with the idea of giving up House plus a pick, though.  I'm anxious to see what the details turn out to be.
you know maybe its the stocky build but i immediately thought of vinnie johnson
i also want to keep the attitudes to a minimum on c's, we got lucky with sam & that other knick with no major issues

There have got to be other players / teams involved, to work under BYC rules.  Nate for Eddie + pick doesn't work.

I love the folks who are calling Nate a "chucker". You know, as opposed to Eddie House. I like Eddie and all, but it all it takes is a throw-in draft pick, I'd quite like to upgrade.

Nate Robinson may not be your favorite "type" of player, but his talent trumps Eddie by a pretty wide margin, and this team clearly needs a spark. The guy put up 17/4/4 last season off the bench and is a solid defender (on the Knicks no less)! Eddie shoots 3s.

Just enjoy it people... the guy is a talent upgrade and he's young and entertaining to boot. Or please, leave the cheering to me the first time he gets hot or fires up the crown with a big dunk.

As if the 1st round angst was really about the 1st round pick.

If it's for House,it's probably an upgrade.  The unknowns: 1) the off-set of gaining a scorer and losing 3-point threat; 2) whether Nate can perform more efficiently playing with a talented offensive team.

Another thought is that losing House makes a Ray Allen trade for anything other than someone who can shoot the 3 that much more unlikely.  Without Ray or House, the only 3-point threat would be Paul (and, er... Sheed).

Whew, for a minute, I thought we traded for Nate Robinson.

No confirmation of the trade, and Hahn is merely parroting Wojo. And, as others have said, Eddie and pick for Nate doesn't work per CBA.

Good point.  TA + pick works straight up, but, not Eddie.  Seems the Knicks are bent on getting Eddie, so there is some third team involved...

I'm OK with the concept of microwave, but I don't think the second unit is in such need of "an energy guy." They've been playing fantastic.

Nate's an upgrade, I just hope it doesn't throw off chemistry and spacing with our second line.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Nate Robinson is going to bring a swagger to the second unit. He's gonna bring swagger to a team that looks like it was neutered the day after Christmas. I say bring on the tude. Last night I was just absolutely praying Garnett, or Pierce, or Allen would show some spine and freak out, jsut bring some energy. I my prayers went unanswered.

How are we losing a 3 pt shooter when Robinson shoots 1% less from 3 pt land?

Devil's advocate, but how is Rasheed's swagger working out?
