Why would Washington want Howard? He's got off the court baggage and isn't necessarily better than Butler.

Washington really needs to strip their team down and start over. Heck they should have started doing that 1-2 years ago. That team was never going to be a serious contender.

Like I said in another tread, Stein's tweet kills our hopes. The dream was good while it lasted. :'(

Stuff's gonna perculate for the next week or so.  We'll get flashes of info.  Some smoke, some fire.

Like I said earlier, I really don't expect things to pick up and see concrete trades until mid-week, next week.

That proposed Dallas/Wash deal is nowhere near as good for Washington because Haywood's deal is expiring anyway.  The proposed Boston deal offers them far more in salary relief.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Do these crazy Allen rumors remind anyone of the crazy rumors from before the fateful KG trade a few summers ago?  I'm having a hard time taking any of these rumors seriously.

in my opinion these are not true rumors.
it looks like Washington is trying to wake up the other potential partners like Dallas and Cleveland, with the purpose to have back more....
We can only offer them expirings, maybe they don't need it.

I'm convinced this deal will NEVER happen...  might as well move along as there's nothing to see here.

To be fair, he never said a deal was imminent - just that they were talking ... and that Ainge has shopped Ray ... and OF COURSE Danny is shopping Ray.  He has an obligation to this franchise's future and Ray is a remarkable bargaining chip.

Let's keep in mind, the C's could obtain Jamison without giving up Ray (House, TA, Scal, and J.R.).  Gives the Wizards the same financial relief and it doesn't really make things any worse for the C's.  In fact, not taking on an additional salary (like Mike Miller) actually makes this more palatable, as they could then re-sign Ray next year at a price that--along with Jamison's deal next year--would be roughly the same that Ray made this year.
