I love this thread. gets better week by week

Everyone is doubtfull and sceptical of Tebow (and rightfully so in my opinon he has a horrid throwing game) but he keeps winning, its comical to witness.

He's changing the rules. He's running the triple option in the pros and daring people to stop him.

We're seeing the value of a good defense and no interceptions or fumbles.

Other teams don't want to play him now because it's a lose/lose for them. If they lose they got beat by a college QB. If they win they beat a college QB.

NFL evaluators have never been very good at evaluating heart. It's more important than hitches in elbows.

In answer to the thread?

A Winner. The man is getting it done. Not pretty, but he gets results.

He must have some Celtic in him :).

Great to see him doing well.

They're winning in-spite of how bad a QB he actually is.  It's an aberration IMO.

There is a reason no one in the NFL run the triple option.  One of these days Tebow is going to get crushed by some 350lb  defensive lineman and not get up.  Denver, Coach Fox and Elway don't care because they don't envision Tebow as the future anyways IMO.  They buckled to fan pressure.

I must admit it is kind of fun to watch even if it is unconventional.  Eventually the NFL will catch up to what Denver is doing and that'll be the end of Tebow until he can actually throw the ball like and NFL QB just like the NFL caught up to the wildcat.  Enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm looking forward to the Pats game in Denver later this season.  Should be interesting.

On paper at least, the Pats should match up very well with Denver.  All they have to do is stop the run -- which they do fairly well -- and take advantage of Denver's poor secondary.

I'm not sure I fully understand this thing where people say the NFL will catch up to Tebow. I mean of course they will, right?

Did the NFL catch up to Brett Farve?

Here's one.  There was this NFL team once with what some people thought was the best QB ever, the best WR ever, a lot of very good defensive players, the best coach ever, and another WR who might be the best WR now. Best kicker ever. They went undefeated until the Super Bowl, where they were beat. Did the NFL catch up to them?

How about the greatest show on turf with Kurt Warner and Torry Holt and Marshal Faulk and they were killing everyone. Then this little Patriots team with a charmed rookie QB beat them. So did the NFL catch up to them?

Who did the NFL not catch up to?  I guess there's a couple dynasties, but other than that....

I agree that its not sustainable.  Further, it's not like the offense has played exceptionally well under Tebow.  At the same time, there's something to be said for his leadership; its intangible, but right now the team has rallied around Tebow.  I don't think the wins are a coincidence; with a more conventional QB, the Broncos could easily be 1-4 or 0-5 in their last 5 games, whereas with Tebow they're 4-1.

If the Jets had a QB, they win this game.

The vaunted Tebow offense scored 10 points.

10 points.

And I don't see team making the same mistake the Jets did on that last drive anymore.  They put out an extra DB out there and suddenly, Tebow had room to run.

When Denver runs into team that can put points on the board fast (like Detroit did), the wheels fall off on the Broncos.

Denver is running an offense that no one in the NFL has run in decades.  They run it in college and HS to some success but the teams who are used to defending it defend it well.  The NFL isn't as familiar with it and in all honesty I don't think they believe Denver or Tebow is a real threat.  Once they do and start to really game plan against it Tebow's days will be numbered IMO.

Miami scored I believe 5 touchdowns in 5 drives against New England when they first unveiled the wildcat.  Everybody in the league started running plays from it.  Now it is rarely successful because teams are prepared for it.  The same will happen with this gimmicky offense Denver is running with Tebow.  It not like they are exactly tearing it up anyways.

The implication you're missing is that you're comparing teams that succeeded to superior talent, whereas the argument against Tebow is that he is a gimmick, and gimmicks get caught.

They're running ball control, power/option running, deep safe passes, and hoping their defense can win the game.

Tebow helps facilitate this, but this isn't a new formula. The problem is that in the NFL unless you have an all time great defense that won't get you too far without some ability to score points.

The team was 1-4 starting Kyle Orton.  Even if you want to make the argument the team is playing their butts off to compensate for Tebow's weaknesses, that still means they're winning BECAUSE of him since they weren't playing that way before.

Their defense is playing much much better and they've gone to a more ground centric attack that helps the defense out.

The offense has been equally pathetic with Orton and Tebow.

The almighty Cam Newton led the Panthers to a whopping 3 points last weekend. That team (Detroit) that can put points on the board fast?  A titantic 13 points.
