I had a bad feeling about the rest of the game when Doc decided to keep House in over TA in the 4th. Doc chose jump shots over defense and the attack mentality which got them back into the game and gave them the lead. On cue, House missed a 3 pointer less than a minute later.

Why not stick with the Rondo/TA backcourt that wreaked havoc in the 2nd quarter?

I think Doc stuck with Ray in the second half because he played very good defense on Kobe. We held a decent lead throughout the 2nd half until the end.

But Tony played good defense on him too AND was scoring.

This season, you keep it how it is.  You gotta keep Ray in the starting lineup, Tony off the bench, and keep their minutes how they are.

Next season though is a different story.  Depending on how this season turns out will depend on alot obviously.  But they need to take a serious look at the possibility of either not signing Ray back at all, or signing him for much less money and making him a 6th man.

Which then perhaps opens the door for TA in a starting role or signing another starting 2 guard.

Why do they have to keep it the way it is if it's not working?

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Who's with me now?

I'm not talking about starting Tony.  I'm only saying reduce Ray's minutes so Tony can play more. Ray should play no more than 25-30 minutes.

Where was Tony in the 2nd half against the Lakers?  He might of helped build a bigger lead. :-\

the doc rivers school of coaching.

-be buddies with everyone in the media so they can never call you out for being a bad head coach.
-never defend your team.
-sell out young guys in interviews
-always play the guy who has been in the league longer.

TA was THE reason the c's were in the game in the 1st half. barely saw the floor in the 2nd half.

another hatchet job by doc and the refs. tough tag team to beat

actually, this is the danny ainge school of general managing...it has been danny's claim all along that tony allen is a backup point guard.  in all fairness to doc, i see this as a coach following his gm's orders.  this is danny's fault...

No.

Ray is the starter.  He just needs to find his range again.

Well don't you think its possible he could fiind his range again by shooting more against 2nd string players? Something has to change and if TA brings a spark to the 1st unit with his hustle and defense and Ray brings a spark 2 the 2nd unit with his leadership and scoring ability, I don't see why you wouldn't try this. I am sick of hearing Ray is the starter no matter what he does, it isn't working......

Yes. I just thought of that also.

Would make our bench the best in the league. The celtics should make a trade pronto. Randy Foye would be a guy i would love to get from the wizards. He is barely playing on that team and he he alot good with the wolves last year

I don't think this is the answer.  Allen plays too well with the first unit, and is too important to what they do.  But they need to stop relying on the big 3 in general so much.  They need to start riding some of the other guys when they are hot, and stop giving the benefit of the doubt to guys like Ray Allen, Pierce, Garnett, and Sheed.  They now are all at a point in their career where they are just as inconsistent as the young guys, so they should be treated the same.

How about Tony Allen!!

Not only did he shutdown Kobe, he outplayed him. Tony gave Kobe a taste of his own medicine. He literally and figuratively took Kobe to school. The '1st Team All NBA defender' had no answer for Tony. This wasn't the first time Tony shutdown Kobe. It was fun to watch. Just happy for Tony.
