Rondo was the best in this game. 30 points, 15 assists (easily translated to a minimum of another 30 points), 11- 18 FGs, 3 steals, and couple of rebounds. Though he made 6 TOs, his 3 steals negated half of it. It was the failure of other guys to step up. Anytime you look a box score with stats made by Rondo you'd think his team more likely wins the game. Rondo's game was only the consolation we got from this California swing.....err debacle.
IMO, this team is beginning to be his team and it should be that way (from now on, and on the weeks and eventually years ahead) since there isn't much of an exciting player in the roster anymore than him. He has to continue his momentum.
It's almost like a deja vu from last year's run up to New Year's eve. We lost our streak to the Fakers then the lost steam from then on. The only difference now is we have young and athletic guys like Rondo and Perk to continue the fight.
After this game though, I lost my appetite watching our games - failing games. We are still up there but I believe it won't be for long. Young and fan favorites like Lebron, Wade and Dwight Howard are there in the East to challenge us anytime. Until we get a game-changing, talented player, there isn't any much to watch for the season. Of course, I'm just one here who is really deeply disappointed with the recent games.
