Tue, Feb 19, 2008 @ Denver Nuggets L 118 - 124               41 - 10 L 1
Wed, Feb 20, 2008 @ Golden State Warriors L 117 - 119         41 - 11 L 2
Fri, Feb 22, 2008 @ Phoenix Suns L 77 - 85    41 - 12 L 3

In 2008 the Celtics lost three straight games... one of those games was and away game against the Warriors. It was a close game and they lost it one night after they had lost another game. Their next game was two days later in Phoenix... Anybody notice any similarities? This team will be fine. Even championship teams lose games... believe it or not they also lose back to back games. Don't call me crazy but sometimes they even lose back to back to back. The Celtics will be fine. The sky is not falling. We're fine.

TP. I guess I shouln't have gone back to 83-84 when that was right there ;)

Rondo was the best in this game. 30 points, 15 assists (easily translated to a minimum of another 30 points), 11- 18 FGs, 3 steals, and couple of rebounds. Though he made 6 TOs, his 3 steals negated half of it. It was the failure of other guys to step up. Anytime you look a box score with stats made by Rondo you'd think his team more likely wins the game. Rondo's game was only the consolation we got from this California swing.....err debacle.
IMO, this team is beginning to be his team and it should be that way (from now on, and on the weeks and eventually years ahead) since there isn't much of an exciting player in the roster anymore than him. He has to continue his momentum.

It's almost like a deja vu from last year's run up to New Year's eve. We lost our streak to the Fakers then the lost steam from then on. The only difference now is we have young and athletic guys like Rondo and Perk to continue the fight.

After this game though, I lost my appetite watching our games - failing games. We are still up there but I believe it won't be for long. Young and fan favorites like Lebron, Wade and Dwight Howard are there in the East to challenge us anytime. Until we get a game-changing, talented player, there isn't any much to watch for the season. Of course, I'm just one here who is really deeply disappointed with the recent games.

He's not taking Pierce's job. Pierce plays SF not PG. Rondo is playing his position, PG. This whole "Rondo needs to score more since Pierce is out" is absolutely ridiculous. He doesn't need to score more. He needs to run the team better, he needs to lead, he needs to be smart, he needs to make good decisions. The whole team needs to do things like this, no one just takes it all on by themselves. But since Rondo is completely dominating the ball, I think it is on him more than anyone else. Don't really understand your CP3 comment. You mean he can produce awesome stats in losses?

Your post nearly grips what I'm trying to say (I apparently suck at explaining my thoughts every once in a while lol)

He's taking Pierce's job -in scoring-. Not in position :)

And yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to say with that CP3 statement. CP3 isn't winning [dang] much either, 'cuz he's a one-man-show. Same goes for Rondo. He can be a CP3, that's why we pay him like one. He's showing us now.

And yes, that's a bad thing. I want him to produce for others. I want his stats to become 15-20 points vs 15 to 25 assists, instead of 10-15 assists and 25-30 points.

Either that, or he should be on the court running his lungs out for 48 and scoring 40 points and 30 assists :P

Amen, brother.

I have seen this Boston team down too many times over the last 20 plus years, only for them to win it when it counts.

Now don't get me wrong - all of the games count, but we are taking some on the chin right now. We need P2 and Marquis back.
When it is time for Boston to dish it out, they will.

Huh? On so many levels I don't unerstand what you are saying. If you think we need to "get a game-changing, talented player" after describing Rondo as just that it a) makes one say, well isn't he what you are calling for, or b) umm, are KG, PP, Ray, not "get a game-changing, talented player(s)"?

Hey buddy, this isn't the time to be logical!!!!1111!!!!11! This the time to find your nearest bridge and threaten to jump off of it. Or make another absurd trade proposal which will never happen! That's the CelticsBlog way, don't you know?  :D

(...Oh and look at your TP meter to see if it went up by 1...)

And this team doesn't need a backup point guard, right?

Yea, our backup pg was so essential in the year we won the championship huh...

So I guess they didn't acquire Sam Cassell and I guess he did not play a key role in several games in the playoffs?

Yeps, that unfortunate experience happened. Thank God Doc quit on him before it was too late.

Pierce is hurt...KG gimpy....Q hurt and now rondo....great...just great...going to get run out of phoenix

Could happen...no doubt. But to me, by June 2010, PHX will be on Vacation at the expense of the Lakers, and Boston will still be at work.

It's just a rough stretch right now, people. I can't really blame Doc, because the starters are playing less minutes...it's this injury bug.

Heck, even Kobe still has that fractured finger. I hope a ball doesn't glance off of his finger the wrong way.....

Can anyone here imagine Kobe Bryant going down for 4-6 weeks?

She sells sea shells on the sea shore. The shells that she sells are sea shells I'm sure. So if she sells sea shells on the sea shore, I'm sure that the shells she sells are sea shore shells.

Throw the Clippers game in there from last year too as I did earlier.  Not sure what that proves --- since the Nuggets were a very good team last year for one.  But I guess we can deduce that since the C's lost those games it was crucial since they lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs so that means they are in store for the same fate this year?

Lol...I can imagine about 10 million Laker fans with their hearts in their throats if this happened.

See, this is why I love Boston. We are losing without our Captain and Marquis D, but at least we are competitive.

LA would fold quickly without Bryant.
