Because terry is capable of running point while scoring bout 12 points a game, and we dont need that ego.

That above video clip is one of my favorites ever.

It reminds me that there is GOOD and BAD in ALL of us.

Sometimes, all you see from some people is the BAD.

Whether Allen Iverson ever plays a single game in the NBA again - to me he is a 1st Ballot HOFer.

His only talent is creating low percentage shots for himself.

I was going to give you a TP for that until I remembered his talent for driving under the basket and then passing it to a teammate 3 feet away. Thus creating a low percentage shot for a teammate.

I'm all for it.  Bring him on board.  Everybody deserves a second chance.

No worries.

I just found it a bit strange that someone that Red Auerbach himself seemed to have a lot of respect for would not want to come to BOS.

Per Let Me Tell You a Story:

The subject of Allen Iverson came up. Could Red have coached him? "Are you kidding? I'd have loved to have coached that kid. First of all, he's as quick as anyone who ever played. But beyond that, he's a warrior. I'd have gotten along great with him. The practice thing would never have been a problem. I would just very quietly tell him 'Look, you need to do this because it means something to me and to the other players.' What you have to do is let a guy know what's important to you and let him know that if he does right by you, you're going to do right by him. That's the thing: my guys always knew I'd take care of them if they played hard for me-- while they were playing and after they were done playing."

He puffed on the cigar. "Iverson reminds me of a story. Few years ago, the NBA asked me to come in and coach in the rookie game on all-star weekend. I remember this because it was Iverson's rookie year.... We won the game. And when it was over, Iverson came over to me and said, 'Coach, it was an honor to play for you.'

"And you know what? He played good defense the whole game."

I grabbed that quote from Poster Hila (TP), from a similar AI thread way back almost three yrs ago...Hila grabbed the quote from a book by Red Auerbach titled - "Let me tell you a Story."

The above link was one of the very few I could find of the book.

I don't believe that for a second.  Post a link.  The guy went out of his way to say he would like to play for Doc

Due to so much ray allen garbage I can't find the interview. All i remember him saying was he loved philly and wouldn't join his rival team (boston).

This stuck with me because i'm a AI fan and I wanted him to come bad as anyone but someone asked if he would join the C's and he said no because of the fans in philly would hate him for joining the rivals. (something like that)

Plus he is OFTEN injured even when he was in turkey lol google how many games he played overseas!

I think a different mindset could be instilled. I think his basketball IQ has to be quite high, being a 5'10 player dominating like that. The fact that he respects our organization only helps.

Again medium-risk-high-reward, like Darko. Sure, he'll be paid peanuts but he's taking 1 valuable roster spot and potentially spoiling your locker room.

I agree that he is HOFer for sure. I'd like to give him a second chance IF, and it's a big if, he can stop being a fool and has a dramatic attitude change
