No AI no way no how. The last thing we need is a PG shooting 20 shots at 40% with 4 people wide open. This kid has yet to hit the open man after drawing a double team.

Why not the G.O.A.T Allen Iverson?

Yeah, I know he has had ego problems with his teams in the past, but everyone makes mistakes and after watching the following video, you know he regrets it and wants one chance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_3jio9IEhQ

He will solve our problem of backup point guard problem and will allow Terry to play SG off the bench in order to have the scorer role Doc wants him to have.

I think this guy really deserved a chance and still does. Playing in Doc's system and next to KG, all ego issues will be gone and you know that.

What do you guys think?

I'm all for it but it aint gonna happen. Didnt he say this same "I want one more chance" thing before attempts with the Grizzlies and whatever teams gave him a chance, then pulled the same crap. Sadly, I just dont think theres room for Iverson in the NBA let alone on the celtics.

Bring back Gerald Green!

I know your joking, but we should have.

He's greatly matured and his game fits perfectly with Rondo.

An Athletic shooter who rebounds a little.

I could rant for hours why we shouldn't get AI, but I don't feel like wasting my time talking about a guy no team in the NBA has really wanted since 2009.

The guy hasn't played NBA ball in 2 years. His last three teams were thrilled to be rid of him. He's never been a pure point guard throughout his career. His assist numbers were never bad but he's always been a score-first player. The thing he does best is score, but Terry, Green, Lee, and Sully/Bass already fill that void in the 2nd unit.

Iverson said he wanted to be a Celtic last year, and we still didn't pick him up. Nothing has changed except we need him even less now than we did last year.

Anyone else remember the extensive rumors that it seemed like the C's were close to acquiring AI for the Al Jefferson package that later netted KG? I was against it then, and thank goodness Danny held off on that deal. What a different path this franchise would have taken.

I'll say this: I wouldn't entirely rule Iverson out.  He's of the same era as KG and PP and they certainly are still tearing it up.  And he's younger than Nash and Hill who are still forces in this league.

That said, he's a huge risk for any team.

It's a risk I would've taken the past couple of seasons.  But this year with Terry, Green, and either Lee or Bradley on the bench, we don't need to roll the dice for bench scoring.

So no go.

His only talent is creating low percentage shots for himself.

I wouldn't be opposed to Danny bringing him here...

The vast majority of Bigs, Littles, lol - whatever - that have come through BOS over the years have contributed to this TEAM.

We've had all sorts of personalities...Shaq, Marbury, Sheed, Nate, etc, etc - and ALL of them contributed.

Even Sheed. Sheed's contributions were a bit late, but still - he played his tail off in the post-season.

When you have an organization - a mindset - that fosters winning and a team-first mentality (For the most part), that brings out the best in players.

So again - why not Iverson?

And before we go back and look at his track record of PHI, MEM - etc - NONE of those teams were/are BOSTON.

I really believe that we are set backcourt-wise RIGHT NOW, but if someone gets hurt....

Let's not count the man out.
