We're undersized in the 1 & 2 positions as it is.

I don't think Iverson would add anything that Terry doesn't at this point. Plus Terry has actually been playing basketball and has been a good guy off the bench unlike Iverson.

Okay, here's an idea that I think it could work..If T-Mac and Pietrus don't work out..

You guys loved the idea that T-Mac could play for us, but why not AI? I know he's old and didn't play a couple of years, but why not give it a shot?

I know he has a rumor of being a locker room cancer, but believe me, he's bankrupt and wants to play bad and he will give all that he has.. He doesn't care about money at this point, as any amount would suit him..

He could be played as a 3rd string SG with kinda limited minutes.. I mean, the guy has mad skills and if he worked harder and didn't screw around he could have been better than Jordan, the most talented player ever..

Why not give it a try and waive him if it doesn't work out? I mean, he has to be better than Josh Childress or Jodie Meeks, like some people suggested it..

Funny how you contradicted yourself there. "Bankrupt" and "money doesn't matter". If I was bankrupt, money certainly matters.

actually no, we didn't like the idea of T-Mac playing for us and as for AI, the guy was overrated when he had an NBA job and at this point he's completely washed up.  never mind his personality and ego issues.

Agree with him being a bad fit but he was not overrated in his playing days. The dude's 5-11 and had a career average of 26 points per game, also single handedly made Philadelphia relevant in the NBA. And I am not sure if you watched him play, his ability to convert tough shots and take contact for a man his size was truely remarkable. The man had once-a-lifetime talent is surely a first ballot hall-of-famer.

I don't think we should get Iverson because he is extremely old right now.. But dawg.. you just said Iverson was overrated..

How in the h-e-double hockey sticks is a 6 foot nothing, four time scoring champion, 11 time NBA all star, 96 rookie of the year, one time MVP, 3 time steals leader, 3 time First All NBA, 6th all time in ppg, 2nd all time in playoff ppg, overrated?  Explain that to me please..  

No one at his size could/can score like Iverson.  No one.  The dude was HELLA gifted in his prime and to call him overrated is just ignorant in my opinion.

But NOT IN A MILLION YEARS do I want him on this Celtics team now.

I watched enough of him to see he was what was wrong with the NBA in the 90's and 00's.  a PG in name only, the guy never saw a shot he didn't like.    

the fact the sixers made it to the finals with him as their best player isn't a testament to AI being a great player, it's a testament to the low caliber of players in that era and the especially weak level of talent in the Eastern Conference at that time.

actually i would not mind if the celtics picked up tmac at all he can still play sure not anywhere close to the old magic and rockets days but he didnt play bad for atlanta last season and he did play us good in the playoffs soo why not it wouldnt hurt us at all and i am one of the tmac supporters i wanna see him do good and finally win a chip!!! he would be good in green!!!

B)He'll always be one of my most favorite players. I flipped out when he showed up for game 6 in the Philly series. I own an AI Besitka's jersey. I spend an inappropriate amount of time scouring youtube for old sixers games.


C)He's 36, and he spent 13 years beating the crap out of himself on the court. He's slower, older, and mellower than he was in his heyday. Do you really want any part of that? I'd rather remember him as the fastest, angriest dude on the court than watch him totter through another season.

nah i cant co-sign look at how garbage his roster was not only did he have years where he averaged 30ppg he led his team in assist wit 7-8 per game. in 01 they was da only team to beat dat Lakers team in the playoffs wit Eric Snow, Tyrone Hill, a past his prime Mutumbo, nd George Lynch in da startin lineup. I find it hilarious how people try to play Iverson like he wasnt EASILY a top 5 scorer in da league for a long period of time. he's too disrespected cuz of how his career ended but AI was iconic man, being in elementary school hoopin on da playgrounds almost everyone modeled their game after AI in da early to mid 2000's
