According to realgm, Iverson may have just talked his way out of the NBA. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62632/20091107/report_iverson_granted_leave/

Cant wait for the podcasts and streaming video to start.

i wanted it to work out too. Ill admit I was wrong also. I definitely did not think it would go this bad this quick. The naysayers definitely called this one correctly

I'm sure Danny will make calls to the agent ASAP and offer him the whole Randy Moss deal. Come here. Do what we say. Make a little money. Shut up. Get a ring. Take it or leave it.

I bet he leaves it and goes to the Bucks and gets p---ed off when he finds out he's backing up Brandon Jennings.

To be clear, AI has only been granted an unspecified leave of absence for personal reasons.  He's still on the team.

another nba source tells y! iverson not expected to return to grizz due to frustration over reserve role and lack of communication w/hollins

Just couldn't have been handled worse by Hollins, Wallace, Iverson and their owner.

Iverson is a great player, this is tragic.

I'm waiting for the spin by the Iverson apologists.  Whether he was misled about hit role or not, Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing about minutes after the first game and literally QUITTING (let's not sugarcoat anything) after three games is disgraceful.  Iverson's done.

I think Hollins handled it perfectly. Sends two messages to his young team: A) You're my guys and I trust you B) I'm in charge. He also sent message B to Randolph who has been playing pretty well.

So not talking to the guy at all is a good way of handling things?

After disputes with about 8 coaches, pretty safe to say that Iverson isn't the best soldier, too.

It's a mess.

This is all about Iverson not getting his way. He has never taken coaching well. It was an act of congress to get him to practice at all, let alone run a play from the coach that didnt include him shooting the ball.

These are long time problems that stemmed from accusations by many folks. It is pretty much been proven by the lack of interest league wide in Iversons services this past summer. If he was willing or capable of playing a backup or supportive role, be would have been signed to a contender for at least the midlevel.

Does anyone really believe the Lakers, Suns, Spurs, Magic, Cavaliers or Celtics wouldnt have loved having him on their second unit if he was going to act right? He is headed down the Marbury road IMO and will be out of the league soon. Too bad, he was and still is a great talent with a knucklehead set of mental skills in his approach to playing basketball.
