Rondo should keep his mouth shut completely after this game because he was taken to school all game. Rondo is not even close to cp3 in  pg skill.

Rondo (SIGH I CAN'T SWEAR) on Paul for the whole first half. Paul won the second half. Rondo's team won the game. Let's call it even.

They are absolutely equal in point guard skill. Paul shoots better.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Classic realist is more like it....I just keep my mouth shut since people seem to ignore alot of *real* things that are quite visible and it's not worth fighting over.

My last post was edited out.  I'm really trying to post my feelings about Chris Paul w/o using an expletive and am coming up short.  It's impossible.  The guy is a lot of different expletives and is often a combination of several.

He plays the like a sissy. Flops everywhere, and moans his way for fouls.

He could play for me any day.

TP Steve. I'm not a huge fan of Paul's. I'm not a huge fan of Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard or Shaquille O'Neal either but if any of them want to come play in Green(or if Shaq wanted to in his heyday) they could have looked awfully good in green to me.

For the most part, I don't dispute that (although "plays like a sissy" is open for interpretation, and I'm not sure I'd go that for) - but as for the body language and the pouting for calls, I actually covered this exact topic in a Babble back in the spring (link for reference rather than self-aggrandizement, I promise: http://www.celticsblog.com/2009/4/26/853302/top-pgs-antics-no-fun-to-witness).

Agreed, that he would be even more fun to watch than he already is if he could do it without some of that stuff.  And I'd be lying if I said I don't growl at my screen when I see him getting into it with Rondo.

But I want to be clear that the only reason for that is because I'm bleeding green and thus biased - none of that overshadows in my eyes the point that he is the best point guard in the game and someone I would have no trouble rooting for in green.

All the side stuff remains fairly minor to me with CP3.

Thanks, MH and Nick.

This whole conversation seems to be blowing things out of proportion. A little beef is going to happen in any NBA game. I can't say I have much of a problem with what went on. All seems pretty minor. But I also think the double tech was barely even called for. Whistle the ball dead and let the team inbounds, the double T's seemed like an over reaction.

And yes, obviously Chris Paul is one of, if not the, premier pg's in the game. To say, as a fan (not as a player. i understand, as someone said earlier, how a player will hype himself up by stating their own superiority. That is very different from a discussion as a spectator and fan), that CP3 isn't at or near the top is letting one's bias go a little too far. I still got Rondo's back though  ;) And let us not forget, Chris Paul is no angel:

No one is denying CP3 is a good player.  But like the other poster said, he plays bush-league.  Not to mention, for a guy who thinks so highly of himself, he's accomplished nothing, and is taking a team that once had high expectations and moving it in the wrong direction.

What I am wondering is what was the Celtics assistant coach, the big man asst. coach, was saying to him afterwards.  It doesn't look like he's saying nice things.  It looks like he's saying, "you don't wanna mess with us, we will mess you up!"

Rondo is just one of several guys on our team who loves to talk trash.  I'd prefer that the talking stops when the game is over, but inevitably there's going to be some spill over.

Rondo is fiery and competitive.  He needs to reign that at times (i.e., you don't want to be getting into it with Kirk Hinrich), but overall I'd prefer him to be too aggressive rather than too timid.

That being said, I didn't see the altercation, so I can't really comment on it with any specificity.

This is seriously getting blown out of proportion. It all started when Rondo and Paul had momentum together going underneath the basket on a play away from the ball. CP3 hung onto Rondo and Rondo then proceeded to fling CP3 off of him. CP3 fell into the camera guy and got p---ed. The two then had some words for each other. CP3 probably said something along the lines of "do you know who I am?" and Rondo probably responded with "yeah, NOT an NBA champion". Rondo isn't backing down from ANYBODY and that's something I love. After that CP3 went on to hog the ball, hoist a lot of jumpers (that all seemed to go in), but inevitably lost the game ;D I don't care what anybody says Rondo got into CP3's head and it helped the Celtics get the win. Rondo didn't go out of his way to instigate anything.
