Here's my take.

It's not a bad thing.  You can interpret it as Rondo being "cocky" and a "punk", but I see it as him displaying a ton of confidence.  He's convinced himself that he's on the same level as Chris Paul (he isn't) ... possibly even convinced himself that he's better than Chris Paul.   This isn't a bad thing.  That display of confidence will help Rondo and confidence is necessary in the NBA.

Also... it's in no way different than any of the other players on the team.  Perk convinces himself that he's on the same level as Dwight.   Ray Allen use to talk crap about Kobe and claim he was overrated (Ray would often outplay him when he was on the Sonics)... Paul Pierce was asked who the best player in the NBA was and said it was himself.... the guy tries to convince himself that he's on LeBron's level every time the two of them play each other.

It's no different than any of those guys.  They like to believe that they are the best players at their given position and they don't display the same statistical brilliance, because they are adhering to a team mentality.  Frankly, these guys need that attitude if they want to succeed.  They have to believe they are the best.  I like it.  Rondo's got fire.  It's not a bad thing that he refuses to back down to the greatest point guard in the league.  It's not a bad thing that Perk refuses to back down to Dwight Howard.  It's not a bad thing that Pierce refuses to back down to Bron... etc.  These guys will not be intimidated by anyone.

CP has to be restrained from going into the Celtics lockeroom....

Hornets point guard Chris Paul had to be held back after Sunday's loss to the Celtics when he tried to enter Boston's locker room.

Paul and Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo both received technical fouls after exchanging words in the second quarter.

Boston won 97-87, while Paul posted 22 points and eight assists
.

Boy I wish he had made it in there! He would have gotten STOMPED on!!

Should make for a great future match-up between he and Rondo.

Yeah the title's a bit misleading Nick.
I only saw the 3 second overhead clip they showed on CSN after the game and have been watching Dexter ever since. I have to see the entire video after but what I had seen and the way CSN presented it it seemed as if Rondo instigated the incident.

That is the best view we had.  However, it looked like something had already started right after the buzzer went off.

My guess is that even though Paul Pierce had Chris Paul under control, Paul was popping off and Rondo was taking exception to whatever he over heard when he re-entered the picture (being the overhead shot we saw on CSN).  Rajon needs to stay out of it if possible, but I'm not one to talk.

Anyway, the news about CP trying to enter the C's locker room is news to me.  That is psycho.   :o

Yeah man...a push and a scowl goes a lot further towards a punch in the face if there are no cameras rolling.

Exactly...we've all done this.  When there are people there to break things up, we're a lot tougher.  Going solo into an opponent's locker room is stuff that should be reserved for Ron Artest types.

Dumb move by Paul. DUMB. Dumb. Dumb.

i don't think it was stupid on either Rondo or Chris Paul's part. finally we can see a little fire in their bellies which has basically been bred out of the game of basketball. i want these guys to hate each other. true competition sometimes manifests as hatred and thats not a bad thing its human nature. in a world of soft liberals and conservatives where everyone wants to hold hands, sing songs, and cover everything in bubble wrap, i think its a breath of fresh air.

From that video it looks like Pierce and Paul were talking and ROndo came over and said something and started pushing Paul. Bottom line, who cares?

Rondo should keep his mouth shut completely after this game because he was taken to school all game. Rondo is not even close to cp3 in  pg skill.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

I don't know the first very few seconds of the tape show Paul saying something none to nice to Pierce. It didn't look like what he was saying to Pierce was the usual:

"Hey man, great game. You guys got a hell of a team. By the way, what you doing after the game? We aren't flying out until tomorrow so come by the Copley Plaza and pick me up and we'll go hit the Capital Grille for some steaks."

Pierce's facial expression, for the very brief read I could get off it, looked more like a:

"Hey, go take up that crap with him. I'm the captain not a freaking baby sitter."

And then Rondo might have heard what Paul said and came over to see what was up.

That's good to hear. Not only do I have the jerseys of the Big 3, but i have CP3's jersey too. Not to mention Dirk and Brandon Roy too.

Chris Paul tends to say things that might be a little over the top:
