My team is finally rounding into shape. Still willing to trade.  Probably most interested in a good-great center.

haha...nice.

Speaking of, lets set some quantifiable rules and repurcussions for tanking (yes I know, the irony is overflowing).

didnt we essentially already deal with this?  hence the lottery system to make tanking 'riskier'?

I think the issue isnt so much with tanking, but with inactivity.  some of the 'tankers' missed legitimate opportunities to make their teams much better through FA and the waiver wire.  I picked up guys off of the scrap heap that played well (young guys) that were then swaped with other players for stars.  the only way to get better in a league like this is with constant attention to the available players (even if you want to tank).

Lucky, or anyone else can feel free to correct me, but I believe the above is correct.

There were two problems last year:  1.  People who like me tanked on purpose and 2.  People not even following the league at all and tanked unintentionally.  I believe we have rid ourselves of problem #2 by kicking them out of the league, but problem #1 will still be around if we don't do anything about it.

People can still work the waiver wire and tank.  So we need to put some guidelines as to what qualifies as tanking and what happens to an owner if tanking occurs.

Aside:  I do think that tanking is OK and is a part of the NBA, which we are trying mimick.  Buuuuuuuuuuut, I do think the majority of the league thinks it detracts from our friendly competition.  So, based on the majority I am all for making a punishment for tankers.

I agree with you, but what I was saying was that I think the tanking issue was 'resolved' as we well as it could be in instituting a lottery system.

I am not sure how else you can police/enforce tanking (which is why I was under the impression that the lottery was implemented).

But I am open to anti-tanking methods as I think it is obscene to do in a fantasy game...

There is a third group of tankers: managers who keep players out of their active lineups, and end up way under the games played cap.

I'll treat these people as inactives: ripe for replacement. I will be monitoring games played caps during the season. If I start to see something I don't like, I'll issue a warning before replacing.

More thanks, Lucky.

I've re-upped.

Also, had a couple of draft day deals fall apart. Still looking to make a 2 for 1 trade to add bench depth for title defense.

Lazy Sunday afternoon thread bump, for the benefit of the five managers who haven't signed back on yet.

Also, wanted to clear up some confusion for those that have approached me with trade offers, I'd prefer to deal one of my players for two. That said, I'll mull over anything. Off season is long. And charm of Yahoo's mock draft is already wearing off.

So drop me a line, would be one less cut you'd have to make.

Still 5 GMs yet to sign up for the league:

ChampKind
Rondo2287
Birdman
Larrybird17
Edgar

We are less than one week away from the deadline for roster cuts. I reserve the right to remove and replace anyone who fails to join the league by then. Consider this a final warning.

I would assume that if everyone joined up/rosters posted sooner than the end of the month, we could get things rolling. Correct?

Excellent. Everyone has signed in to the H2H league.

Out of deference to newly signed GMs, and GMs who are still working on making trades (yours truly included), we will still stick with the 11 PM, Sept 30 deadline for all rosters to be cut to 16 players.

On Oct 1, I hope to have all rosters imported into the Yahoo! league teams. Soon after that, free agents will become available.

I just noticed this, and wanted to clarify:  there will be no game limits in the H2H league, correct?  I'm under the impression that there will be no changes to last year's rules.
