If anyone has issues with starting the season in Week 2, make your voice heard (and make a good argument).

What is the reasoning for this?

It makes for a 19-week regular season, meaning each team plays every other team exactly once, thereby making it an absolutely level playing field as far as playoff berths and seedings are concerned.

To play devil's advocate, I'm not sure it's a completely level playing field, because some teams will have their key players playing 4 games in that opening week (in all likelihood), while other teams will only play two games.  I think that's a bit of a handicap, and therefore, things aren't completely level.

That being said, I'm okay with the decision.  I hate deferring the season for a week, but I understand the rationale.

Works for me.  Might it be better though to remove the last week rather than the first because of rosters being more true?

We are also removing the last week of the season. Playoffs will occur in Weeks 21, 22, and 23 of a 24-week season.

Is there a list of rosters right now? I need to make cuts.

BTW, I recently posted on the H2H league board (on Yahoo!, not here) about the playoffs. If anyone has issues with starting the season in Week 2, make your voice heard (and make a good argument).

Once I input rosters via offline draft, I believe settings are locked in for the season.

Wow, I don't know...  that's not very good value for Al Horford, who is a legit double-double guy every night, and is still very young.  I think you could have gotten more for him.

I looked for better value for the last couple days.  It wasn't there.  I'm a big fan of Delonte - he is only 26. Sheed will still get his minutes - especially if KG is not 100%.  Parker doesn't have too much left in the tank - he's 34.  also, I just picked up Blatche in another deal and I believe he will be my C of the future.  I think this is a pretty good deal - especially in a H2H format.  Sheed and Del both put up #'s in numerous categories.

It wasn't even close.  The players offered were not as good and you wanted TMac too.  No offense either, but that was not a better offer.

Wow, strange trade. Parker may take most of West's minutes this season, or at least until West is traded. In this league, I am not sure the value of trading a 23 y/o double double machine for a 35 y/o player of any sort.

Having said that, Sheed will probably have a slightly statistically better season than Hoford. Sheed can fill up the box better than Tito... I mean Al. If this was a year to year league and not a deep keeper, this trade would be somewhat equitable.

Maybe it's just sour grapes on my part considering Lucky and I finish 7/8 in the standings last year. This league is going to be a tough this year, especially if the the new GMs are active... and that Blake guy takes a year off from tanking. I can see 4 or 5 teams fighting for the last playoff spot or two.
