  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
We have a post-draft trade to announce:

Truck Lewis trades Jodie Meeks to Birdman for J.R. Smith.

Whoa.  That is a fleecing.  J.R. Smith is a big time fantasy performer with his 3s and steals.  Meeks is a 2nd round pick in one of the weakest drafts in recent history.  Geez.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I see Meeks as having much more potential for a higher ceiling, but JR is a safer bet

I don't see it. Smith is the better athlete and just as dangerous from the perimeter, plus he's starting in Denver this season. But maybe Birdman is trying to clean up his locker room?

Still, I suspect he could've gotten a Top 10 pick for Smith. Landry brought back #13.

Right now it's a lopsided trade but I'm thinking that meeks will be a good player in the future. Not a All-Star but a guy that can put up about 13 ppgs. I hope anyway, lol. Plus I got some good guards on my team and i can afford to wait on Meeks.

But even if you're right, you could easily have gotten a 1st round pick (#8 and #10 were both available) to reach on Meeks if that's what you really wanted AND a front court player or an additional pick.

Let's look at Smith's numbers: 15.2 ppg 2.2 3PM 3.7 rpg in 27.7 minutes. Imagine what he's going to do with a starting role. Truck may be acting bashful right now but he was pinching himself.

EDIT - And J.R. just turned 24 yesterday.

You're right about Smith numbers and they are good but how long will he last. he might play a long time but I really doubt it. Like I said before i got some good guards and I pick up Meeks, Young, and Daye so i think I made a good decision. Only time will tell and hopefully I made the right trade, lol

Cosigned.  Meeks has little daylight ahead of him as far as playing time goes because of the glut of capable veterans that play his position in Milwaukee.  He's unproven, though talented.  Meanwhile, JR Smith is the 53rd ranked guard by cbssports.  2 SGs from Milwaukee that will play in front of Meeks - Redd and Bell are also ranked in the top 100 (this includes rookies).  Meeks is not ranked.

regarding the trade, to each their own.  I have made trades people felt were lopsided for me that turned out horrible for me and vice versa.

However, one thing I have realized is that very few rookies actually contribute in these leagues.  as a result, I wouldnt have traded JR for Meeks, but who knows...

Hey guys,  :-[

I just want to apologize for missing my picks yesterday.  Going to do my best to make it today, but not sure if I will.  Work and life in general are really getting in the way these days.  Having a newborn is a full time job in itself and I have 2 other jobs.  ugh...when does it end...?

dont forget, if you cant make it you can send a list of players to Lucky to draft for you in your absence (so you dont get stuck with a guy who wont help)

but it's ok, I got christian Eyenga who isnt expected to be back in the nba for the next 3 years.
