didnt we essentially already deal with this?  hence the lottery system to make tanking 'riskier'?

I think the issue isnt so much with tanking, but with inactivity.  some of the 'tankers' missed legitimate opportunities to make their teams much better through FA and the waiver wire.  I picked up guys off of the scrap heap that played well (young guys) that were then swaped with other players for stars.  the only way to get better in a league like this is with constant attention to the available players (even if you want to tank).

Lucky, or anyone else can feel free to correct me, but I believe the above is correct.

There were two problems last year:  1.  People who like me tanked on purpose and 2.  People not even following the league at all and tanked unintentionally.  I believe we have rid ourselves of problem #2 by kicking them out of the league, but problem #1 will still be around if we don't do anything about it.

People can still work the waiver wire and tank.  So we need to put some guidelines as to what qualifies as tanking and what happens to an owner if tanking occurs.

Aside:  I do think that tanking is OK and is a part of the NBA, which we are trying mimick.  Buuuuuuuuuuut, I do think the majority of the league thinks it detracts from our friendly competition.  So, based on the majority I am all for making a punishment for tankers.

There is a third group of tankers: managers who keep players out of their active lineups, and end up way under the games played cap.

I'll treat these people as inactives: ripe for replacement. I will be monitoring games played caps during the season. If I start to see something I don't like, I'll issue a warning before replacing.

I just noticed this, and wanted to clarify:  there will be no game limits in the H2H league, correct?  I'm under the impression that there will be no changes to last year's rules.

Status quo: no game limits, but there will be a cap of roster moves (I think we went with 50 last year, or approx 2.5 per week).

A trade to announce:

Lucky17 trades Darren Collison to blake for the right to swap 1st rounders in the 2010 draft, or a conditional protected 2nd round draft pick (should blake finish ahead of Lucky17).

TP to both Lucky and Blake for posting a trade that I had to read three times to understand.  ;)

I have sent the trade to the commissioner, but Make Me Some Bacon and Ya'll Hate have completed a trade.

from MMSB:
Jose Calderon, Ricky Rubio, Yi, 2nd round pick

from YH:
Raymond Felton, Andray Blatche, Gerald Henderson

Interesting trade.

Calderon is probably the slightly best player only b/c the Raptors are suppose to play an up-tempo style. As a former owner, I know Yi is a risk with maybe high reward. Rubido is a 2-3 year empty slot on the roster. That's tough in a H2H league. Blatch and Henderson are backups, although Blatch should get decent minutes. Henderson may get some minutes later in the season if Bell is traded.

IMO, an even trade.

Bacon could really make out if Felton ends up with the Knicks next season and Henderson starts for the Cats. A definite possibility.

Pretty accurate. I think Blatche is overlooked unless you are an owner.  When given PT and staying out of foul trouble, he helps a lot.  I was very reluctant to give him up, but preferred to give him up rather then the other player who was discussed.

Yi is the never ending potential/bust.  we'll see.

I prefer Calderon to Felton a fair amount - given the shooting ability and high assist/to ration Calderon has.

This has the definite possibility to blow up in my face, but I think Calderon's ability makes it a worthwhile trade.

What would you guys say about the trade if Tony Parker was there instead of Calderon?

Just making conversation since I traded Calderon for Parker at the tail end of last year.

Did we do that swap straight up?  I'm pretty sure there were other players involved.

Is there any place I can find out what my past trades/transactions were?

I dont think you can see the old transactions.  I just looked on yahoo and couldnt find them.  I did find a message semi discussing it on the old league homepage, but no mention of players involved.

I guess anyone who has old emails saved would still have the yahoo one with the pending/confirmed trade in it

Still even, although it would depend on team need. Parker and Calderon are very different types of players. Calderon is more of a 3pt threat/assist guy, while Parker is a better scorer. In a H2H league, Calderon is probably a better player since it's easier to make up point than assists/3s, not to mention his sick 98ft%. Both players shoot ~50% which is very good.

I was pretty good on 3's and had the most assists of any team.  I grabbed Parker for his FGM and FTM and points which I could of used help in.

I do believe the deal was straight up.
