Roy when I see your team I see the 2003-2004 Los Angeles Lakers
Horace Grant
Karl Malone
Gary Payton
Rick Fox
Byron Russell
Shaq
Kobe
Devean George
Ime Udoka
Derek Fischer
Yeah ten deep and all talented....at one point. But I lot of that talent was old and got slow and tired and injured fast and were on the serious downside of their careers.
And it didn't work out to well for that team as they completely blew it up because they realized their mistake.
Sorry dude. That Laker team went deep and faltered. I think your team will too.
Criticism is fine. However, I think our team is a little more talented than the Lakers were; Malone and Payton were broken down at that point. Also, if Kobe didn't choke, they would have been fine.
You don't see a parallel between the two teams with Shaq, Jermaine, Manu and Bibby all being on the downside of their careers and falling off very fast like Malone, Payton, Fox, Grant and Russell did that year.
The pre=season before that team played there was little talk of age or faltering games of players. It was all about the talent and depth and they all swore they would get along. I guess they did get along in the end, kinda, maybe(see Kobe/Shaq). But it was the age and declining games that cost that team.
You have said repeatedly that people aren't giving any real criticism about your team other than injury possibility and playing time. Well here's one....declining abilities and the possibility that it costs the team over the course of the season, and there's a prime example, the 2004 Lakers.
I think the similarities are scary similar except that you really don't have 2 dominant stars in their prime like the Lakers had with Kobe and Shaq.
