Ok here is my team so far and I have made no trades. This is just pure drafting!

SG: Allen Iverson/Tracy McGrady
SF: Danny Granger/Tracy McGrady

I hate Allen Iverson on your team I like everything else. It all kinda....fits.

Whereas I think Iverson's career will have a beautiful final act in Atlanta. I like the fit alongside a great orchestrator and a long, versatile, perimeter scorer. I do agree Atlanta has complimented its starting line-up wonderfully with its bench

My concerns? Defensively, Calderon and A.I. likely struggle in the backcourt. And I'm doubtful Hibbert can shoulder 36+ minutes per game? (That said an alternate front court of McGrady/Granger/Thompson could also yield results.)

X-factors are McGrady's rehab and Ricky Buckets' antics.

I feel GM's should be breaking down their teams down in minutes. After all, it's a key element in whether or not a player will be content on your team. I see a lot of talent packed onto some teams with only so many "game-time" minutes to go around. I envision some uneasy stars and young players.

We'll probably have 9 guys averaging 25 - 30 minutes per game each, with the other three active guys being situational subs.  Also, we plan to liberally give guys the night off, to keep them healthy for the playoffs.  82 games is a grind, so we're going to mix it up.

9 Players AVG. 25 minutes a game? I can't see that as a successful formula. Honestly, I think you guys have some decisions to make on your rotation. This game isn't about acquiring the most talent it's about building an actual team right? The scenario your painting is unrealistic in this voters opinion. There are other teams I see with the same issues, This formula doesn't work for young teams either. Guys want to know there roles and want to play.

So I want to know how Portland is planning to deal with their Centers recent activities.  Between Showing up at a WWE event and challenging the Big Show, to now showing up at the White House and trying to get in unannounced.  Meanwhile according to Edgar, Portland has started high intensity workouts.  Is this already a show of lack of faith in management by the Big Diesel?  How will this insubordination be dealt with?

And on a side note, I am a friend of Shaq so Im a little biased, and I dont have all the facts, but I would say the Secret Service acted stupidly in not letting him into the White House.

Is that reality, or is it your bias looking for a reason to knock Portland down? 

Minutes in recent seasons:

Shaq: 30 per game
Manu: 26.8 per game
Brad Miller: 27.6 per game in Chicago
Delonte: 25.1 per game two seasons ago; 20.8 in Seattle
Gomes: 31.9 per game
Jermaine: 29.8 per game
Bibby: 31.5 per game in Sacramento last season

Only Michael Redd and Rashard Lewis will have to take a hit in minutes.  With Redd and his injuries, I'm sure that's a blessing, which means our team chemistry depends on Rashard Lewis being willing to take 30 minutes per game rather than 36.  Somehow, I don't think the sky is falling.

Again, the "too much talent" thing is just an excuse to knock down good teams.

It's just the Diesel being the Diesel.  He and Delonte are going to make a great comedic team that keeps the locker room loose.

I don't see how a team with Iverson, McGrady and Ricky Davis doesn't implode from the start and fall flat on it's face. Add to that there's no real center talent on the team and I think Atlanta is way back in the pack.

So Since Everybody else is doing it We will Adress Our Team

PG: Andre Miller/Aaron Brooks/Eric Maynor
Andre Miller is without question one of the better point guards in the league.  This is evident by the number of offers we have received on him from other teams.  We really like his distribution and rebounding abilities, and his scoring is just a bonus.  He will be running the team and will be pleasently surprised to have good scoring options around him after the past couple years in Philly.  

Brooks really broke out in last years playoffs, carrying the Rockets at times. We believe that he will be great on the second unit as he is a slasher thats going to be surrounded by shooters in Belinelli, Finley, and Big Z.  This will either open the lane up for his driving or it will be a drive and dish scenario.  

Maynor: Not much to say about him since he likely will not receive much playing time this year, but his leadership and competitive play at VCU will make him a great fit.  We envision him to be the heir to the PG within our organization since Brooks is more a scoring option.  In their game against UCLA where he matched up head to head against Jrue, he put up 21 points 6 boards and 7 assists.  

SG:
Obviously this is our weakest position but my hands were tied when it came to drafting because of the Arenas move.  We drafted Brooks in the 5th round and then moved arenas and needed a 2 guard.  

Afflalo:We decided that since the elite 2 guards were long gone we should focus on a young guy that plays good defense and shoots the three well.  We feel that you can do alot worse than having a defensive specialist at your weakest position

Bellineli: We went after Bellinelli becuase the greatest criticism of our team at the time was a lack of scoring.  We saw that Q-rich was available but decided that Ron was enough of a challenge and we didnt want to add another project guy in the lockerroom.  Bellinelli has a great shooters touch and good size.  It will be a challenge for him adapting from the European/Golden State zero defense styles but we are hopeful that with the strong defenders around him he will elavate his play

SF:
Artest: I think we all know the deal on this guy, elite defender, decent scorer and passer.  One of the big criticisms we heard was that our problem would be when Ron trys to score too much himself.  We believe that having great passers and facilitators at the PG and PF positions will benifit Ron greatly, he wont have to force to create his own shot and on most occasions it will be created for him.  

Finley: This guy is the Wiley Vet on our team.  He started 71 games for the spurs last year however we dont plan on wearing down the tires on him that much.  He brings championship experience and solid team play.  We love that he is going to come from the Spurs tough D system and think he will be a solid player for us as well as mentor too our shooting guards.  He will be splitting time between the back up 2 and 3 this year for us where matchups permit.
