I think the East is stronger.

Our starting allstars:

C  - Nene
PF - Garnett
SF - James
SG - Wade
PG - Chris Paul

Vs

C - Dwight
PF- Duncan
Sf- Rashard Lewis?
Sg - Kobe Bryant
Pg - Chauncey Billups

I'm not sure that starting all-stars determine which conference is better.  Also, is Nene really the best starting center in the East?  If so, that's a scary thought.

Yes it is, although Nene is pretty darn good. No Center in the east had a better season than him last year.

No disrespect to Nene; if healthy, he's a good player.  He just doesn't scream "all star starter" to me.

It's by default really. The east has some solid 5's but no "All-star starters".
I would take Bynum, Perk or Horford over Nene as an ASG center before Nene.

Yeah you better qualify those results, Roy.

Looks to me like its gonna be Seattle/Phoenix in the first round.

I don't think either Perk or Horford would put up the numbers, regardless of whether they're subjectively better or not.  Bynum could, but he's got to play a full season first.

They were absolutely qualified.  We'd be happy to play you in the WCF, too.  We can't quit you, Phoenix.  ;)

I dunno, I would Say between Bynum(If Healthy), Horford, Perk Might be better options for Allstar center

Oh yeah, why is that? Nene has better numbers than all of those guys and was the starter center for the best team in the east not named the Lakers.

Right but you are talking All start STARTER.  Its done by a vote, so whether or not they will be there, Horford, Bynumn and Perk are all more popular players than Nene, which we have talked about because people on this board think Nene is highly underrated.

Are you sure you phrased that right? There are 15 teams in the east not named the Lakers.

Yeah, but Nene is starting for Boston, the best fan base in the universe, so all the fans would diligently vote their guy in.  ;)

Unless you're saying NY, Philly, and Chicago fans are better?    :D

And when things start going wrong the finger pointing will start as the me first personalities that litter this team blow it up from the inside out. Washington, Detroit and Cleveland would all have little trouble beating that Dallas team.

Devil's advocate, but doesn't Detroit have the exact same flaws (if you only look at worst case scenario) that you've pointed out with Dallas?
What worst case scenario did I point out? They are a bad defensive team, how is that a worst case scenario?

Detroit's worse case scenario is if Chandler and Amare can't be healthy, if OJ and Rudy aren't ready to take the next step and if Amare can't be a leader. They have some head cases but not up and down the lineup, like Dallas and they will grow while Dallas will grow old.

In the East, Dallas is a 10th seed, IMHO.

All Star Starters are voted not selected. Nene will not get the votes.

Nah I agree that Boston fans are the best, but Nene just doesnt carry the weight around the country that the other guys do.
