Sabotage may be a strong word, but it seems to fit the bill from what has been relayed to me.  I just don't see the integrity to go out of one's way to undercut and back-bite a team in private, but make no effort to back up that opinion in public.  I'm from the old school where if I'm going to criticize somebody, I'll do it to their face.  To do anything else is, in my opinion, shady.

Anyway, I'm moving on.  I've given my opinion on why I'm not enamored with your team, and why I'll be voting you third in your division; I think you did a pretty poor job of building around an excellent foundation, but time will tell which one of us is right.

All this bickering and back and forth does is prove what I said earlier. Again,you can't prove what's in someones mind and you can't tell someone how they should see a team. Someone calls a critique an attack, the other person said "it's just my honest opinion". Then someone else says we're taking this too seriously. Another says "we won't stand for cheaters". This line is way too blurry to even know what side of it you're on anymore. I learned my lesson last year when I thought my team was pretty good and voting said it wasn't a playoff team. Oh well. Big deal. If this year's team is a playoff team as so voted by others with or without bias "great. If everyone says my team is garbage "fine". I really don't care honestly. I have enjoyed the exercise and that's what I take away from this. If I'm allowed by whatever powers that be to do this again next year, I'm in too. But in the end, voting is always gonna be too subject to mood swings for me to feel validated by anything determined by this voting process.

This year's playoff seed voting will be conducted this Thursday (13th) and Friday (14th). 

The process is going to be a bit different than prior years.  Everybody (owners & non-owners) are eligible to cast one ballot each.  The ballot will be cast in a public thread and the ballot will be a ranking system of each conference's teams.  First of all, the top three seeds will be the 3 division winners following by the best remaining teams ranked from 4-15. 

The reason for the public ballot is to try and alleviate some of the voting "inconsistencies" seen in prior years where some teams were deliberately tanked by other team owners.  The hope with the public ballot is to show some accountability on your vote.

Here's an example of what the ballot will look like:

2. (Division Winner #2)
3. (Division Winner #3)
4. (Best remaining team)

Additionally, let's not discount the amount of internet Asperger's that tends to take place on message boards.  Without tonal or visual/facial cues, it's tough to tell what the intention behind a lot of posts are.  Sometimes what a GM means to be a joke is taken seriously and vice versa, which harbors bad feelings - especially in an environment when you're dealing with the same people over a period of several weeks.  Grudges arise, subside, etc.

I'm confused.


Regarding GC posting it, and I know you disagree with this, but I just think its better to point out one's teams pluses instead of attack other teams. That's the nastiness I have spoken against. Once one person attacks, obviously the other will come back most likely. That's my 2 cents.

I'm stung by the nastiness.  Anyway, our team was earning all-star berths last year, and MVP votes within the past two.  Sorry we're not relying upon out-of-shape rookies to win us games.
