I like Gordon.  He's definitely one of the better young guys left on the board.

The Seattle Supersonics select T.J. Ford, point guard, University of Texas

i like it, i think he's severely under rated

I like Ford a lot, too.  He does have some warts, though.  (Injuries, shooting, and chemistry).  Still, I think it's a solid pick here.

IIRC he had none of those warts last year when you picked him 3(9) Roy  ;D ;D ;D

They're warts.  They're not insurmountable, though.  He's a good pick in the third, but he's not a star.

I don't like the Gordon / Ford backcourt very much, honestly.  I think it's going to get exploited by bigger teams.

I don't like the Ford pick myself. I have 16 point guards ahead of him.

"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

I don't think so

I don't think so. I don't see what Ford brings to a team.

He's injury prone, with limited range and questionable decision making. I also don't think his defense is all that great.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like what he brings a team

Not to beat a dead horse Roy, and a TP for being a good sport, but IIRC you tried to argue that you got an early-to-mid 2nd round player in Ford when you got him at 3(9). (I only remember this b/c I was nowhere near as high on Ford as you seemed to be)

I'm sure we all do this --- if I get player X at pick Y it's a great pickup; if you get player X at pick Z it's not as good a pick.

We probably all overvalue our own picks (see Miller, Brad; Orlando). Doesn't mean there's not some truth to how we subjectively view the guys we take, but it's not as cut and dry as some of us make it out to be.

WHATTT 16?

I'm thinking S.O. meant from the start of the draft... i had 14-15 ahead of him then...

If StartOrien meant 16 ahead of Ford STILL ON THE BOARD, then WOW! (He does however want to "Start Orien [Greene]"* so maybe he does mean still on the board)

*full disclosure: so did I :)  --- c'mon we're both Gainesville, FL natives...

Nope, I have 15 PG's still available ranked higher than him.

Nope, I have 15 PG's still available ranked higher than him. Granted, there are some questionable calls in there. But I just don't like him as a player. Again, it seems I'm in a minority, but I wouldn't want him being the starting PG on my team.

Possibly looking to move the 3 (17). Would need a great offer though where I get a 3rd back.

Haha.  Pretty funny.

We're willing to move back for the right price, too, of course.
