One year contract at the minimum, with a TEAM option for a second year, also at the minimum. He gets paid while he rehabs, hopefully he's back in time to help in the playoffs, and if he returns and is healthy, we've got him on the cheap for a second season (and if not, we've got no further obligation). If he's healthy, Leon's more of a $3M - $4M/year player, not a minimum-salary guy. Having a team option on the second year alleviates the risk that he rehabs, plays well but only for a month or two, then walks for a bigger contract. The Celtics take the risk of paying him for nothing, Leon takes the risk of being underpaid in '10- '11.
